Getting a Profession Back

I stupidly resigned Myrto's profession last week. Not sure why, it doesn't matter now!
The question is, how do I get a profession back? Myrto's stats are in the 80s-90s, so the training professions aren't really useful anymore, but neither is he/she a POSI.
Do I have to wait for an opportunity card? If so, does that card only show up in Lodgings? Ugh, basically I just want some more Christmas cards.
Any advice, fellow Neath-dwellers?

The first-tier professions are available on Connected cards. Watcher (the watchful/shadowy profession), for example, is available on the Constable and Great Game cards - you can see which ones you get from which factions on the wiki.

You can upgrade twice more from those professions, although you'll need to be a POSI and have sufficient Notability (2, then 5) first, and luck into the Unsigned Message opportunity card.
