THE FALLEN LONDON ADVENT CALENDAR RETURNS!
From today to 25th December, we'll be sharing advent access codes on Twitter and Facebook (edit: and on Google+).
Each code will give you a snippet of sepulchrally Yuley narrative, and something besides: trinkets, magpie-treasures, and occasionally, something rare. Each will expire in mere days, so act quickly.
Here is your first advent gift (a bit earlier than on social media, because we're pals). Enjoy!
CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR YOUR ACQUAINTANCES!
Tell your friends you are thinking of them this festive season. (Not necessarily what you are thinking of them.) Let our Christmas cards speak for you: four designs with room for your own message.
Your stock of cards will be replenished weekly by Time, the Healer.
New players: You will need to turn any contacts you have into acquaintances in order to send them a Christmas card. You need to send a calling card to a contact before they are acquainted with you. Make some fast friendships while the false stars twinkle with Christmas spirit!
Seasoned players: If you were acquainted with accounts that have been deactivated, you should now find that those accounts have been removed from your acquaintances, giving you room in your heart to accept new ones.

The advent calendar is a real advent calendar! Brilliant!! Thank you delicious Failbetter friends; you are awesome.
And you can still see the little tabs next to the windows after you've opened them ... just like a physical advent calendar!

The increased social aspect to the holidays is making them one of my new favorite Fallen London things. As the List of My Favorite Things About Fallen London is rather crowded, it does leave me mildly perturbed, but I wouldn't dream of complaining. Anyways...
I don't know if a Christmas Card Acquaintance topic has been started, but I'd be happy to accept new friends with whom cards could be exchanged.
Also, hurrah for Advent Calendar! Though I do wish there was the possibility of actual chocolate coming from a day or two. Perhaps in an attractive Failbetter chocolate box (a "Boxful of Intrigue"? Eh, eh?). In delightful shapes of your favorite Fallen London characters! The Snuffer Creams could taste like wax! Handsome Devils made with honeyed toffee! Mr. Wines' Mystery Surprise filled with chocolate liqueur!
Ahem... My apologies. Chocolate and FL together gets me rather excited...

(Oh, of course, accepting Delicious friends as acquaintances for sending and receiving Christmas Cards and I'll post this on the other thread.)
Brilliant! This will be my first Christmas/Advent holiday, since I started on a Friday afternoon (local time) seven weeks ago! Thank you Failbetter Games for continuing this tradition so I may get to experience it!
(Drat, this also means I have to wait until this Friday then before I get Christmas cards to send though

Alas, my alt did not get Snowbound when Time arrived earlier today. You'll have to wait until next year.
There was this thread which mentioned that the Home Comforts came from the SNOWBOUND storylet. So it wasn't a secret, you just unfortunately overlooked the thread.

Okay. I must confess. My curiosity is really peaked now, I have to ask. Do you know why the advent calendar codes would be posted on the FBG Google Plus page which has 13 followers but not the FBG tumblr which has around 500?
I do.
Tumblr content can hang around for years. It didn't seem sensible for us to post highly time-limited codes there.
(The Tumblr of Darkdrop Coffee is of course not a seasonal code.)

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

Will there be anymore Snowbound days? I had no idea the no Home Comforts came from that storylet and missed out on it the first few times. I am always irked by how secretive the sources Fate Locked items are, it surely would not spoil the whole story to let slip this one detail would it?

I appreciate all the new contacts I have made this season, well over 30, but I am afraid that I will not have enough cards for those I have made! I am happy to accept anyone who wishes to expand their network of dubious cohorts and lethal companions, however I will only be able to send out cards to those I have already accepted.
