I would *not* be happy to be betrayed - the loss of MW would be incapacitating. Please refrain, and my thanks to those of you who have already done so .

List updated! I've elected to not add those who aren't terribly keen on being betrayed; no sense in encouraging people to gossip about those who only grudgingly accept it.

I certainly do not mind, as I was planning to betray all my confessions to the Masters.

I care little for making waves at this point, but I feel betrayal to be distasteful. I will keep your confidences regardless of your behavior though.

I'm entirely open to betrayals of all sorts. Time has just been by for a visit.
What does Trust actually do, for those enjoying the rare bond of fidelity this Hallowmas? edited by Shalinoth on 11/5/2014

Trust is more in the Spirit of things. We haven't seen the benefits of Spirits of Halloween yet, but those who keep their confessions secret will have an easier time getting it to whatever amount we'll need.

Thank you. And does Bury it and Consign it result in basically the same Trust outcome? With different humble rewards.

I buried a secret and it only gave me 2 Spirit as opposed to 4, so if you can Consign it to the Bazaar I would do that.

I'm burying several. When the festival opened and I devoured secrets I buried last year, I got 6 Spirit for each. It's a gamble because there's no way to say for sure if that'll still be the case next year, and I have a healthy (I think?) amount of Spirit for this year already. But I like the idea of starting next year off with a little extra Spirit. Also, I like the text I wrote for burying a little better than the one I wrote for consigning, so there's that too.

Thanks for clearing that up. I still like my burying text better but I'll be more likely to consign now.

Does anyone know what sort of reward we get for a high "spirit of Hallomas" quality? I don't recall whether that attribute existed or was rewarded last year.

It's a new quality. We don't know exactly what rewards we'll get, but it'll determine how prominent we are in Huffam's next newspaper edition. If I had to guess I would say that Making Waves is very likely to be a reward, maybe even a point of Notability if you get front page. We'll have to wait and see.

As the proud recipient of both, I thought your buried secret text was utterly lovely. Thanks for sharing it with me.

I was not happy to be betrayed especially without having been asked about it. I ended up losing a point of notability from it which I'm trying to grind back. If I had been asked, I would have said yes because I could have taken precautions.

Well, two out of three betrayers asked permission first (and were given it). Could be worse. edited by RandomWalker on 11/8/2014 edited by RandomWalker on 11/8/2014

A couple of my alts ended up getting betrayed while they were busy trying to raise Making Waves for another point of Notability before Huffam comes around for an interview, which was a little inconvenient. Didn't stop Madison, though I'll have to wait and see with Delmar. It'd have been nice if they did it earlier so I could betray them back. Delmar and Madison had already consigned all their secrets.

If I had been asked, I would have said yes because I could have taken precautions. Ouch. That's painful. However, if you have acquaintances, you should always have a buffer of Making Waves when Time comes to heal you, because if any of your acquaintances snub you to free up some Influence for, say, a protégé or such, you'll lose 5 CP of Making Waves. And 5 x Confident Smile, but that's probably less of a concern.
Though if there were many unexpected betrayals I could see how a reasonable buffer of 5-15 CP wouldn't have been enough. My buffer usually ends up at ~40 CP thanks to the Sardonic Music-Hall Singer, though it won't be nearly that high now that I'm spending Making Waves on Tiny Cave Fishes.
EDIT: And for missed opportunities to counter-betray, there's always next Hallowmas, when one can sell secrets consigned to the Bazaar. The urchins might not be as generous as the Masters, but think of it as an opportunity to become more Heartless, if that's possible. ________________________________ edited by Gillsing on 11/9/2014

Lesson learned, I suppose. I was betrayed several times, and it was my first Hallowmas thing. Didn't know you'd lose Making Waves if they betrayed you. I just wish they'd have asked me or warned me.
I don't plan on betraying them in the conventional sense, though. No, I kept everyone's secrets...

I know it's only a couple of days before the deadline, but count me in for general betrayals. I've only got 2 MW at the moment, anyway, and I've sent myself to the tomb-colonies enough times that Scandal isn't scary for me. edited by MrUnderhill89 on 11/10/2014
