Confessions are now able to be shared in that most ancient Feast of Masks tradition. Returning to your Lodgings allows one to seek out the sins of others or deal with those confessions collected in years past. This topic's purpose is to bring together sinners and confidants, ensuring that all may gain dark (or at least mildly murky) secrets of their fellow Londoners...
To start, I would be happy to share my sins with those who might wish to harvest them. Feel free to add me and partake of my terrible tales of suspicion and scandal...

Burying secrets from last year does affect Steadfast, but not increase it beyond 10. A shame, even the game calls your commitment legendary. What more do I need to do, game?

Haha yesss, I did it! I didn't think it was going to happen, but I got 600 Spirit of Hallowmas exactly. Thanks all you last minute confession seekers. Special mention goes to Dragoshi for being Hallowmas Spirit #600. Honorary mention goes to Dr Cameo “Scary Teeth” Thurlow for being Hallowmas Spirit #500. I am so excited. edited by NiteBrite on 11/5/2014

Apologies for digging up this old thread, but it took me a while to compose a response to some of the questions asked of me earlier in this thread. Primarily, the question of how I got so much hallowmas spirit this year. If you would like to know more, and are not shy of massive spoilers and tons of memes you can read more here at my blog: http://britetimes.tumblr.com/post/102816732879/hallowmas-spirit-explained-nitebrites-confession
I'd post it here, but its over 9,000 words long (almost 10,000). I hope this answers all your questions. Thanks again everyone and happy hallowmas even though its pretty late to be saying that.
Edit: this is basically my personal Hallowmas confession. It tells of my errors of pride and whimsey and all manner of things. These are the sorts of things my character would confess during this event. edited by NiteBrite on 11/16/2014

I would like to thank all who participated in exchanging confessions with me this Hallowmas, and those who used this topic to find fellow confidants.
I'm trying to reciprocate for the last few confessions I've heard in these final hours of exchange. I'm not sure I'll be able to get through the thirteen offers in my queue, but hope that the other eighty-eight of you enjoyed hearing tales of my Bazaarine sins. As for the thirty who placed their trust in me, rest assured that your secrets are safe with me. Because let's face it, if you all ganged up and betrayed me I'd be spending the next month or two in the Tomb-Colonies...
Once again, thanks to all for making this holiday (for me at least) one of the most interactive, challenging, and fun to participate in to date. edited by The Dark Gentleman on 11/5/2014

And it is over, the season of confessions has come to a close... We mangled ourselves, we discredited ourselves, we willingly stared into the mouth of madness and we implicated ourselves to what ever crime imaginable all out of love for our fellow Londoners. The Bazaar must be proud.

I will probably end up spending all of my actions for the next week on getting enough menace to keep up with a massive backlog of confessions, but i will still totally blab all my secrets everywhere anyway

I've been pained by certain maladies of late. Nightmares. Wounds. And sometimes, even a touch of Scandal. I do not like to boast, but I am a person of some importance. Should you be willing to hear my tales, they will be sure to interest you.

I am a person of, dare I say, some importantance, and, alas, subject to all manner of menace. I suspect I shall remain scandalous and suspicious throughout this fine holiday, so I am particularly available to confess whimsy. LISTEN TO MY WHIMSY EVERYONE SERIOUSLY I WILL NOT SHUT UP ABOUT IT

Good lord, for the first time I had to flee the forums, I am ashamed. So many people sought out my confession that first day, I was woefully unprepared... so many outstretched hands and strained ears. It seemed to take so long making sure that everyone who came to my door left with my secrets. Never before have I had such difficult maintaining menaces. Some even left before I got a chance to give them my confession, this saddened me. They took the time to give me their attentions and they must of felt I was ignoring them... I just needed a bit more time. I have barely had a moment to collect any confessions myself. I digress. I am ready to try again, the process now a bit less daunting. All that I ask is that I be given enough time, I DO NOT and WILL NOT ignore anyone who seeks me out. Just understand that there can be a line and it takes a bit of time to be mauled by a Starveling Cat and/or to attract all the wrong attention. Confessions of Violence, Curiosity, and Pride are the easiest for me to fulfill (due to the cat mauling). All of my focus is on this. And remember one confession per person. Sending multiple invitations, although appreciated, results in me not being able to accept them after the first... do not waste your actions. Happy Hallowmas Ladies, Gentlemen, Respectable "Other"s. May your wounds be grisly, your scandal prodigious, your nightmares obstreperous, and your suspicion obvious.

I do not truly understand what I am doing, but I am happy to add my name, and from reading, go increase my menaces and receive or give invitations...I simply find myself confused as to what we're doing. Currently: -Inching towards an extended stay at the Royal. -Minorly banged up. -An unpleasant topic of conversation. -Being eyed as a prime suspect. -Having tea with the devilish conglomerate of Slowcakes.
-- It's odd, the turns fate takes. I chased my spouses' killer to the Neath, and in the process I found my spouse again. It's peculiar, avenging the death of a loved one, when you have tea with them every afternoon.

Ah, excellent. We can accept sent requests still. I'm gonna be heading off for a little while then; have fun everybody.
Edit: Got myself up to 15! Very nice. Be sure to reclaim your lost Making Waves (I wasn't after them, and don't need them at the moment), and have a great week. edited by Sara Hysaro on 11/5/2014

Well, 3 people have betrayed me, and 17 others were deserving of my trust. Really, the 15 points of Making Waves weren't that big a deal, but I'm finding that the betrayal itself hurts. I tried to make sure that I assured everyone I asked for a confession that I wouldn't betray them, and I guess I was hoping they'd return the favor...though in the mad rush I suppose it's possible that I confessed to some of these people without hearing their confession in return. I don't know. I'm disappointed. I know 85% trustworthy is a pretty good percentage, but still.

In response to the questions on the previous page, I should mention that shortly before Hallowmas began this year, a day or so before it was announced on the forums, I saw my confessions quality raise by three levels. I asked around with a few others who had participated in last year's hallowmas and they too had gained about three free ghost levels of confessions out of nowhere, unannounced, silent, messageless levels of confessions that appeared out of nowhere overnight. I don't know if this was a true-up imbalance fix or if it was just an across the board +3 broadcast (seems more likely), but if that happens every year then in theory you can work off your list imbalance slowly over time. edited by NiteBrite on 11/11/2014

I raised the issue of leftover Confessions via a bug report a few days ago (before I knew why it had happened). FBG responded that they will restore the balance before next Hallowmass. So there's that.

Well you have to remember a good portion of my contacts are non-posi. I'd guess roughly 20%-30% of the confessions I took this year were impropriety or other non-posi request which costs one to two actions to accept at most. After about 6 confessions, I can't send reciprocation back to non-posi so that was strictly one way acceptance.
To answer your question: Did I spend nex? Yes about ~$30 (including an EF extension $5, and the facetailor which was like another $5 or so).
Did I have to? No not really. In fact, I probably could have played more optimally without it, but this wasn't about being optimal or saving money. Hallowmas is my favorite holiday event so I don't mind spending on it and being inefficient in order to have a good time.
Remember, the optimal hallowmas strategy is to send confessions every action until the five days are up and not touch your inbox until after sending closes. The reason for this is because you get the better part of a month to accept confessions (a few weeks at least) that are sitting in your inbox even after sending (5 day limit) closes. This gives you several extra days above and beyond what you were thinking.Instead of doing that though I spent my five days just accepting stuff as it came in, and sending out confessions as I felt like it.
edited by NiteBrite on 11/18/2014
