Delicious friends! Fallen London's Hallowmas content is now available!
A Trade in Faces
A new tale of fluid identity featuring the return of the Face-Tailor! It costs 25 Nex to play, and could lead you to some of Fallen London's forgotten corners.
To begin the story, look for a storylet in London entitled "A Sigh from Somewhere Around Your Ankles." While themed to nestle cosily into the Feast of Masks, it will continue to be available after the feast is over (when we'll move it to the Nex page).
As ever, we're announcing this to our community first - do let us know if you hit any troubles!
Visitors at Hallowmas
The Attract a Visitor at Hallowmas card is available throughout London. The Visitors at Hallowmas card lurks even now in your opportunity deck, as long as your Making Waves and Nightmares are 5 or more.
If you don't have a destiny, admit a visitor for a glimpse of a Possible Future, then go to your lodgings to dream.
If you want to change your destiny, speak to a visitor, then head to your lodgings and spend a small amount of Nex to erase your old destiny and unlock your new one.
Confessions
The ancient confessional practices of the Feast of Masks are again in vogue! If you want to engage in this entirely safe and not at all dangerous Hallowmas tradition, head to your lodgings and look for the Confessions at the Feast of Masks card..
Until November the 5th you can gather confessions from other players. The person who confesses to you will earn a little Spirit of Hallowmas. Anyone can gather up to 6 minor confessions (of Curiosity, Violence, Guile and Impropriety), but once you have more than 6 confessions. Persons of Some Importance can gather Toothsome confessions (of Pride or Whimsy) from one another, and these will allow you to increase your confessions above 6.
After the 5th of November, the masks come off and you will be able to choose whether to keep the confidences you've gathered, or betray them.
If you were loyal enough to keep people's secrets last year, you may now notice two new options available on the Confessions card...
The Spirit of Hallowmas
Soon, Mr. Huffam will be about, looking for interviews for his Unexpurgated London Gazette - what will you warrant, do you think? An unattributed quote? Or the front page headline?

I can only imagine NiteBrite how much NiteBrite has now. I think it was 600 points BEFORE confessions could be turned in.

It was indeed 600 before confessions turned in. I could have pushed it as high as 880, but I wanted certified scraps (how I covet them so) and so I went for a different target. I'll give you one guess as to what my final Spirit value after confessions cash in is haha

I'll work on making a write up of my Hallowmas experience for my blog to chronicle how it all went down. But later when I am less mentally drained (possibly this weekend?). Let's just say next year will probably be even crazier so be sure to look forward to it edited by NiteBrite on 11/6/2014

I also have the "Scowling Flint Idol", and that came up as an option here, though dammed if I can remember where it came from. I generally keep hold of anything interesting & unusual though.
Damn ;-; I should have held onto that after all. Oh well! I... don't suppose there's any way to get it back...? Don't worry - you don't need the Scowling Flint Idol to enjoy A Trade in Faces. If you've played through the affair of the idol, you'll unlock a minor extra option in the new story (whether you kept the idol or not). It saves you a small amount of resources and recognises your earlier adventure, but it's not necessary.

I've got the dossier, but where do I go to start working on filling it out? Do I just wait for opportunity cards? There are new options relating to the dossier on the Bohemian, Great Game, Society and Criminals opportunity cards. I have filled out the dossier, but I'm nervous about turning it in: I want to shut [THIS PERSON] down. Should I wait for another opportunity, or will [SUDDEN YET INEVITABLE BETRAYAL] present itself only after handing in [HIDDEN FUN STUFF]?

Can people who confessed to me last year confess again? Or do I need to devour/sell their confessions?
Edit: to answer my own question. You can confess again. But it resets the old quality, so you can not bury/sell the old secret. edited by Fhoenix on 10/31/2014

This is strange, because when I look at the options to devour/sell the old secrets, I get a list of eligible contacts which include both old confessions from last year and recent confessions from this year (for me there's no overlap between those two), and at least one of them is someone I confessed to, but who didn't confess anything to me. If I try to actually send one of those invites, would the game realise that a certain contact isn't eligible after all? Because as far as I know, if they're in the list, they're eligible. A fresh confession has a trust of 1, a secret buried last year has trust 2, and a secret buried twice (last year and this year) has a trust of 3. Keep in mind that the Myself tab shows the state of the secrets other people keep for you. So the only way to check what secrets YOU keep is to open the bury action. If you can bury somebody old secret then they have trust 2. Confessing again will reset trust to 1. It is entirely possible to go from to 2 to 1. But I don't think you can confess people once they hit 3. At least none of my old contacts are eligible, I only see new people in my list of targets. Which is a shame, I'd like to confess old friends again.

Is the new "Visitors at Hallowmas" erases your current future, if you make another choice? or it can have other effects? If you've already chosen a destiny, your future is written. However, as at the Fruits of the Zee Festival, you can spend Nex to remove your current destiny. This will allow you to select whichever future your Visitors have unlocked for you.

is this the Dadd Wing content from the sunless sea kickstarter or something else? What Flyte said!
The Dadd Wing as a setting fit very neatly with the themes and imagery of the Face Trade story, so we couldn't resist using it in a small way here, too. edited by Chris Gardiner on 10/30/2014

So far Destinies haven't had a role in anything beyond being fascinating and a nice +5 in a stat, but I wouldn't be surprised if they unlocked some content in the (possibly far) future.

Haha, me neither. Oh well, I am using most of my actions in confessions at the moment, so I don't mind saving this for later.
