Is the new "Visitors at Hallowmas" erases your current future, if you make another choice? or it can have other effects?

If you've already chosen a destiny, your future is written. However, as at the Fruits of the Zee Festival, you can spend Nex to remove your current destiny. This will allow you to select whichever future your Visitors have unlocked for you.

I've just had my visitor at Hallowmas (from the gold-boardered card). After selecting an option on the card, the text ends with "[Return to your lodgings to see your Destiny.]" But there are no new options at my lodgings, and nothing relevant under the Hallowmas option. A bug?

I was still in the process of making everything live, but you should be able to choose a destiny in your lodgings now.

Sorry Chris, I'd obviously jumped the gun a bit. So excitied about the shiney new content! All working fine now.

Ugh, tough choices. I'll be looking at other people's echoes.

Bug report: the Door of Poison-Cedar storylet hasn't vanished yet.

Social Actions: send them to Kade Carrion (she/her; no Tournament of Lilies, please). an_ocelot has gone NORTH and cannot benefit from social actions!

Possibly-Useful Things: Spreadsheets and hints and link collections, oh my.

This should now have an option to spend Nex to replay the story (in a similar way to A Trade in Souls), for those who want to try again and make different choices.

If I already have my Destiny, and don't want to change it, is there any point to meeting one of the visitors?

If you're happy with your Destiny, no. The "Something on the doorstep?" option on the Visitors card will be of more use to you.

Hello!
I see this Hallowmas event plays on nightmares. It seems very interesting but right now I am trying as best I can to avoid being in a state of confusion (farming my dreams), so can someone tell me if it is possible that one of those Hallowmas opportunity gives me a lot of nightmares in one go, risking to send me in the marches?
thanks! smile

I just had one of the cards (whisper secrets to a mirror) give me progress in one of my dreams...

Maybe that'll be some help.

Argh, spent Nex to Attend a Lecture on Spiritual Hygiene and found that for those who don't want to sell their souls it's useless. Ah well, goodbye Nex.

Is there going to be, or is there an "invite a friend" option somewhere in this holiday content.

I've got somebody I could talk into joining, and want to do it in a style that suits the holiday spirit.... Or if I am told there is not, I'll open a bottle, and do it with holiday spirits.

The Hallowmas Visitors and the first phase of Confessions are now live!

Visitors at Hallowmas

The Attract a Visitor at Hallowmas card is available throughout London. The Visitors at Hallowmas card lurks even now in your opportunity deck, as long as your Making Waves and Nightmares are 5 or more.

If you don't have a destiny, admit a visitor for a glimpse of a Possible Future, then go to your lodgings to dream.

If you want to change your destiny, speak to a visitor, then head to your lodgings and spend a small amount of Nex to erase your old destiny and unlock your new one.

Confessions

The ancient confessional practices of the Feast of Masks are again in vogue! If you want to engage in this entirely safe and not at all dangerous Hallowmas tradition, head to your lodgings and look for the Confessions at the Feast of Masks card..

Until November the 5th you can gather confessions from other players. The person who confesses to you will earn a little Spirit of Hallowmas. Anyone can gather up to 6 minor confessions (of Curiosity, Violence, Guile and Impropriety), but once you have more than 6 confessions. Persons of Some Importance can gather Toothsome confessions (of Pride or Whimsy) from one another, and these will allow you to increase your confessions above 6.

After the 5th of November, the masks come off and you will be able to choose whether to keep the confidences you've gathered, or betray them.

If you were loyal enough to keep people's secrets last year, you may now notice two new options available on the Confessions card...

If people would like a dedicated thread to make contact with other people who want to trade confessions, feel free to make one. I'll be happy to sticky it!

The Spirit of Hallowmas

Soon, Mr. Huffam will be about, looking for interviews for his Unexpurgated London Gazette - what will you warrant, do you think? An unattributed quote? Or the front page headline?

Glad to see confessions have returned! Maybe this year I'll be off to the Tomb-Colonies for being a gossip.

Has anybody gotten the exceptional reward for digging up an old confession? I'm curious about what it is.

I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly I'm supposed to do once I've [GAINED ACCESS TO A PLACE BEHIND A SPOOKY DOOR] and [AGREED TO A DEAL WITH A CERTAIN PERSON].
I've got the dossier, but where do I go to start working on filling it out? Do I just wait for opportunity cards?

There are new options relating to the dossier on the Bohemian, Great Game, Society and Criminals opportunity cards.

Can people who confessed to me last year confess again? Or do I need to devour/sell their confessions?

Edit: to answer my own question. You can confess again. But it resets the old quality, so you can not bury/sell the old secret.

I bought a fish a good few hours ago*, and have been looking for a second "Visitor" card ever since. The wait is starting to get extremely irritating, especially since the game doesn't say how long the option will be available. After so many tries, every card I draw now feels like a slap in the face.

Right now, the Nex option to immediately get the card feels much less like a "pay to get some fun" than "pay to stop being thoroughly exasperated", and that's not something I'm willing to pay for.

*feels like much more than 6 hours, but the timestamp of the forum announcement is making me doubt myself

Edit: I've had 5 Nightmares and 5 Making Waves all along, of course, even though I'm not sure it's necessary since I didn't have that when I drew the first card.

at least you had one visit! I'm still waiting for mine. I've had so many useless cards since it started that I'm wondering if something is wrong with my account.
I'd also like to know if the event is only for tonight or if it will last a few days, I could go to sleep a little more easyminded.
