I soon hope to be the next pawn, maybe even the next Queen in The Great Game, however, I seem to be having a spot of trouble. I have done my dues at Veilgarden, however my current options requires I have 10 Incendiary Gossip, and for all of my Shadowiness and Persuasive ability, I have yet to find a decent source of them outside of trading Proscribed Material to Inklings Of Identity to Incendiary Gossip.

The easiest way is probably a side-conversion--take 50 of a different 50 pence item and trade it for the next 50 pence item in the circuit, until you get to Incindiary Gossip. If you have access to Thefts of Particular Character (which it seems like you should) you can get two batches of 25 Journals of Infamy which will put you only 4 steps away.

Never would have thought of this myself, thank you for you help. Now all I need to do is build my casing high enough.....
Of course, I could always build up to 333 Appaling Secrets and exchange those for an arguably better exchange rate... Hm

Sure; it all depends on what other resources you already have on hand.
You do get to keep some of the casing from the Thefts of Particular Casing (more if it's successful), so it's not as much of a sink as it could be, especially if you can put the remainder into another heist you would have done anyway. But if you already have 50 of something, or can get up to 50 of something, it's probably a better use of the actions. The circuit is only 13 steps all the way around.

Question; Can I lower tiers of items? I.e. turn "An Identity Uncovered!" into "Incendiary Gossip" (Probably not the right conversion) That seems like something i'd want to do.

Nope. =/ And it certainly would be convenient! Especially for getting Tier 2 items like Romantic Notions or Inklings of Identity...
