Does the volume of your research you get when you collate your research as part of the science voyages actually do anything at this point? Because right now that option seems like an incredibly low payout when the 500 research options pay 50 echoes worth of stuff.

Not at the moment. I'm sure they'll find a use someday, but I dunno if that use will be terribly useful.

At this point it looks like the only real use for that is if you want to do more preparatory research, 'cause you can dump pages and then promptly get them back by turning over the collated research.
