My quirks, as they are understood, fluctuate. I do as I must. I do maintain a moderately high level of Hedonist, but that is the only consistent factor.

My charater is very much two faced and the best way I could portray that with quirks is having both my Heartless and Magnanimous very high. Melancholy is also pretty high and that mostly has to do with her being stuck soulless.

Melancholy, Austere, Steadfast and Heartless are above all others. This is the strangest thing, because my character is not a good person. I suppose he gets so caught up in the pantomime of being a good person that he actually starts to care about people.

I would say that Ron is definitely out for his own gain more than anything else, and usually is ready to do some very drastic things to achieve his goals, so he is most definitely Ruthless. He's not heartless, though, because much like the Cheery Man, he always keeps his promises, or at least attempts to, in a way that doesn't harm him. So that means he's Steadfast. He also tries to appear like a respectable person, and generally keep his criminality in the dark, known only to other criminals, so that's Subtle. That's how I try to play him right now - I guess I'll see how he develops in the future.

I take quirks gains and losses as a champ, since I have this personal approach that they are more or less useless as a character indicator if you engineer them; yet, somehow, my character ended with the quirks that most suited her.
Her bigger and most decisive quirk is Magnanimous 14 (a few cps short of 15) coupled with Heartless 0, as she does have a heart of gold even when being grumpy towards someone (she regrets any and all times she got a ptsd-like rage-fit against spirifers, even if she really doesn't approve of what they do).
Under that, she gets:
Steadfast 10, as never breaks her word, unless the other are trying to trick her into doing something horrible (it would be more than 10, but I wanted to help the Fisher-Kings and curiosity on the library lowered it);
Austere 10, as she really doesn't care about drinks, sex or most of the hedonistic pleasures of London (as hard as the game makes for you to be an abstemian character);
Subtle 9, because, as much as she enjoys fighting in a ring and giving a good whack in perverts without any sense of personal space, she really prefers to solve situations by non-violent and clever means;
Daring 8, because she will dive head-first in a dangerous situation to save someone (see Magnanimous above) and is pretty reckless with personal safety, what with that 'I would love to die, but this curse don't let me' thing;
Melancholy goes up and down. She longs for Surface and her family pretty often, making Melacholy raise in some days. Then, she mingles with her urchin students and, among their chaos and pranks, becomes happy again. Currently, it's at 6.
The only other quirks she has is Ruthless 1 and Forceful 1, as she occasionally loses her patience and gives some people a good ol' beating (like when the aforementioned perverts don't get the hint that she's off limits), but those quirks have just one cp each and will most likely disappear sooner or later. She really dislikes being violent to get her way.
As for Derek, he is a mixed bag, but fitting: 7 for Hedonist (it used to be higher, he calmed down a little after going through the bat phase), 7 for Daring (not exactly physical dare, like the Professor, but he is really bold in his schemes), 7 for Subtle (may look like an empty-head, but could con you into bankruptcy in his 'badboy' days). Quirks he didn't have as an early player, but quickly raised after becoming the Professor's protegé: Magnanimous 6 (he was more childish than properly heartless), Steadfast 6 (towards her, not necessarily this high towards others), Austere 5 (he learned the difficult art of restraining his hedonism when his reputation is too much at stake). Yet, even after being mellowed out a lot by the Professor, he is still Ruthless 4 (just because he won't con people anymore, it doesn't mean that he won't lie to them to get his way).
