I just wanted to ask how you can display updates in your journal. I noticed everyone i've viewed thus far updates except myself. Is there a red button hidden away that I forgot to press.

When you are looking at the resultant text after taking an action, under the text, to the left side is a button labelled "Record this in your Journal." Clicking that will record it there, which you can examine via your profile.
