What is point of lamp upgrades? For example Soft Glim-Lamp gives bonus +3 mirrors, -1 veils for 500 echoes, to overall bonus +2. For same price I can buy weapon, that gives bonus +15 iron and add special ability (torpedo, harpoons). And because otherwise it cost same to rise any ability, why wold you ever purchase lamp? Is there any hidden bonus of lamps like slower terror generation or are they simply really bad deal in game where you never have enough money?
