So I've been running through a ton of exceptional stories as I've not much else to do beyond tedious goat grinding. Finally got to The Waltz that Moved the World, easily one of the best ES's, but I'm left with many questions.

I went for the reconciliation ending, but if one kills the duke what's the secret one gets? I'd imagine it some interesting lore thing, but wouldn't be too surprised if it was just valuable Mysteries item. And I guess while im at it, does anything notable come from letting his daughter kill him?

As for the rest; do we ever see or learn more of the Old Man beyond this story? Or is the conversation with the duke all we get? As well, the Thief. What is he even doing about, another ES established he's imprisoned. Is it one of hiseveral similar natured children? Why is the thief even involved in this?
And then one final thing. I've seen the Where You and I Must Go Easter egg, at least the text, and heard that it has an image connecting to the Waltz. Could either be a reused imagine or a hint to a character, I've read. I can make guesses, that it's the portrait of the Aesthete or her mother used for the woman who appears, but I'm not certain
You get to see the secret the duke was hiding, and its something the thief wants. You also get a valuable legal item. The thief has escaped his prison, and there might be a reference to the old man in the nadir, but I don't think he makes a direct appearance.

I have a question about house of chimes entry story. Will I lose my entry if I lose the required qualities for it? I am thinking of picking the stormy eyed option but I will lose stormy eyed when I go to the mind of long dead god.

Could someone please point me to an echo of removing the second layer in "Uncovering Secrets Framed in Gold"? I have echoed the card text, but since the game was loading so slowly I was neither able to echo nor to read the result of my choice. Thank you!

Thank you, I will do some hunting in your echoes! Would you happen to roughly know how long ago this was?

First page only. Here's an older thread which contains the echos if you push the Forger in uncovering the whole painting.

Found it, thank you! I only missed one little none-too-important paragraph after all.

So, hey, uh, I kind of need some advice - at the moment I have 41 fate (and probably won't have any more than that for maaaaany months to come) and since I'm starting to get kind of bored I feel the need to spend it on something, you know, to spice things up a bit.

Problem is, I don't know where exactly to throw it and at the same time, I kind of want to get something unique out of it. So in the language of memes - wut do?

P.S - I know similar questions have been asked before but c'mon, backtracking through huge threads is always a pain.

So there was an error after clicking the Wry Functionary fate locked option, I'm at the topic of conversation part but missed whatever the intro text was beforehand, anyone have an echo at hand of it to please share?

EDIT: and apparently the option with the Mother requiring Connected Masters 5 (I've only 3 sadly)
edited by Cthonius on 10/4/2016

EditX2: wow I see why it was well liked. It had a brief option for if one has the Intriguer as a spouse, wonder if there are other options for other spouses. My only regret is trying that one challenge with the Functionary's acquaintance till success and then somehow missing out on tge other conversation topic of my career. Also wish could see more of what the mother said

Just finishing Flint, and I found it exceptionally good, especially the second part. Incidentally, did anyone hang around a particular garden long enough to score a ratue? That had me in stitches. Great stuff.

Got a question regarding "The Soul Trade".

Once you get the fence, is that...the conclusion of the story?
I found some tidbits on the net that suggest just that and if it's really the case...

Well dang. I gotta say, the story was kind of underwhelming.

But aside that, thanks for the reply.

Well, it kinda is. But it has really nice mechanical benefits, so that makes up for the short narrative.

Re.: Court of Cats
I did this some time ago and recently had a card pop up unexpectedly at nightmares 5 (Very Infrequent Frequency). Has anyone else
taken part in the Viscountess's Last Revel? Is it repeatable? Hefty reward, incidentally.
It's not repeatable, sadly. Consider it an epilogue.

I had it pop up months after playing the story, too - a nice surprise, really!
