Fragments to Secrets - insight?

I currently have over a thousand Fragments, and it would be great if I could somehow persuade them to combine into Secrets - anyone have an insight into how this can be prompted?

discover something new; but you'll only get one Secret, and the rest will disappear entirely. If there's absolutely nothing left on the map to find (no monster spawns, no locations) then you're outta luck

That seems buggish - I'm sure earlier (in Beta) the fragments automatically became secrets when the bar was full. It did depend on your Pages for how many fragments were needed to fill the bar though.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.

It's a bug. I've reported it with output logs and descriptions to Failbetter. They're working on it.
