Milestones for Scholar of the Correspondence?

I'm now up to SOTC 16 - I can only get to watchful 259 with my current equipment so that is as far as I can get without a watchful spouse, an ubergoat, a mood card, or changing profession and/or destiny. But I also need to stock up on the things so am prepared to wait for a while.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

And of course after posting this I got a mood card, which gave me watchful 281, so am now SOTC 19 and that is as far as I can get without an Ubergoat, which will only take me to SOTC 20 with a mood card. I also used fate for an action refresh and some Tinctures of Vigour while the mood lasted.
Working it out I would need to change both my destiny to something that gave +5 watchful (and I am not sure if we will get the opportunity, but might be possible during a seasonal event) and profession to get a +12 weapon in order to reach SOTC 21.
Need to deal with my wounds and then start grinding for the Ubergoat. Probably by the time I get one I will have found out if I can change my destiny or not.

So is there really much point raising the SotC level? My character has a bit of an obsession with the Correspondence, so grinding away at University studies sort of makes sense, but I recently went from level 7 to 8, and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of new information or storylets being unlocked. Is there any reason to raise it other than being able to say eg. "oh I've got level 15 SotC"?

At 9+ you get 100% chance of success when studying a pail of so-called snow through a semiotic monocle, and I think you need 10 to become a Correspondent.

Confirmed, I needed SOTC 10 to become a Correspondent. And Ciel, you can change your destiny around various holidays if you're willing to drop some Fate for the privilege.
