Bug or no?

I'm at Demeaux Island. There are several choices of what I can do: talk to the Factor, enlist a new crewman, etc. When I choose one of them and finish that action, then the others are no longer available.
So, for instance, I let the crewman on board. Then, when I check the Story tab again, there's nothing available - I can't have tea with the Factor or explore the island.
At that point, I can save the game, load it again, and BAM - all three options are back.
This feels like a bug - either the options shouldn't be gone, or the save and re-load shouldn't let them come back.

In that case, until this is fixed I'd stick to my theory that the zea monster spits back to my ship those zailors who fell in previous battles. Death in the Neath being what it is, I assume that being swallowed by a giant zea monster is only a mild inconvenience. :-)
