And if so, how?

I'm asking this because the previous save files I use to 'test' before committing fully to the game, and its piling up, heck I even accidentally overwrite my main save file with a new game I use to update the game.

Seriously, to we HAVE to use the 'new game' button to update the game?

Yes, but not from within the game. On a Mac, at least, they're stored in Library/Caches/unity/saves

I'm on a Mac and I can't find this.

Why not just click on the shortcut and open to file location, or at least the Mac equivalent of one.

For Windows, you need to get to your AppData folder (which is normally invisible, so you need to make all folders visible), and the saves are in AppData/LocalLow/Failbetter Games/Sunless Sea/saves

Also, is it possible to tone down the color white when you mark someone answers as "ACCEPTED ANSWER"? It quite literally surprise and hurt my eyes, heck I still watch it periodically and it still hurt/sting. That and it makes the post almost unreadable

Or should I put the question on a new post?

It's been brought up a few times before, and as far as I'm aware there's not really anything to be done about it.

  • Also, I'm glad you found my response that helpful!

Fun fact, you can get to that path directly by just pasting this into a file browser on windows.

    %homepath%\AppData\LocalLow\Failbetter Games\Sunless Sea\saves

I made a Windows shortcut to the save folder and tossed it in the same folder I keep the text files with my notes and stuff for the game, so I can back my saves up, I do pretty much the same thing with most games thanks to a history of losing saves to OS reinstalls/HD crashes.
