So I thought I'd start this thread now that we have had time to play around with the latest patch!
Not losing your remaining fuel when docking is an amazing benefit! it definitely changes the dynamic of game play for the better. Supplies still feel like they are consumed at an alarming rate, the journey out of London Harbour and two thirds of the way to hunter's keep seems to be a supply. But that is manageable and I can cope with it.
Terror right now is what is destroying me It edges up over 50% and BAMF in come the Roused at Midnight events and there are very few benefits right now in the reducing terror attempts. I've been slowly building up my ship and my wealth to the level where I feel i can finally head out and explore! But with my terror so high I dare not do so.
Have also noticed things like Roused at Midnight coming in double or triple whammys out of nowhere. And in strange places like Wolfstack Docks or coasting in to the docks at the Tomb Colonies and Whither. If I was a terrified Zailor and I could see the sparkling lights of safety literally just over-board I don't quite think terror would drive me to killing myself when the shore is so close at hand.
Otherwise I am starting to feel like the game is awesome and sucking me in for hours of time vanishing as I explore the Unterzee!

A 'Quit to Main Menu' button would be very welcome, as that's the only place where the build number appears and we need that information for bug reports. Having to exit and reopen the game to get the build number is inconvenient.

Yeah, I know that (which is why I listed a lower power engine as well, for comparison), but the difference between a 1500 Power and a 1800 Power ,10 Fuel Efficiency is barely noticeable, which makes it seem like the extra efficiency isn't really doing all that much at all.
I just spent half an hour doing Venderbight runs and didn't see a Soothe & Copper Long Box once. Death to random number generators. edited by Spacemarine9 on 5/27/2014

I want a monster added at some point that is akin to an anglerfish whose lure is a false buoy...

I have no idea where to put this feedback, but I feel compelled to say how much I love that you are addressed as "mumble" if you skip character creation.
(Just appreciating the small stuff. :P)
Likewise, I have been wondering where to say that I love the way the ship bounces off buoys now. I sail straight at them deliberately.

I routinely run other programs while I play (browser, Skype, even if I'm not playing music in iTunes I have it open, basic image editor for screenshots and such; I run it in windowed mode, making multitasking while zailing much easier) and it never even occurred to me that that might cause or exacerbate problems. I should probably start mentioning that in my bug reports.

There is a way to get fuel and supplies but you need to find and beat a pirate ship. Reliably? Because otherwise I think we might be talking about the same thing: looting a ship, as opposed to a monster, after beating it will give you a Collection of Curiosities with unpredictable contents and one possibility is fuel. edited by CameoAppearance on 5/23/2014

If your ship's stuck in dock in the latest build, clicking the engine to load fuel manually should sort you out. We're looking at this, though, since we thought it was fixed.
That suggestion didn't work. I'm still stuck and my ship caught fire
Edit to add - Fortunately I had saved the game just before I caught fire and exiting to desktop and then reloading the game worked. edited by reveurciel on 5/27/2014

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

I've been laughing at this for two hours now. No special reason.

I guess the RNG just has it out for me, then. As per usual.

Pleased to give you a laugh Gordon Levine It was funny looking back at it though.
Just before I did my last trip I checked my destroyer's hold and somehow I actually had the long box. Not sure when I picked it up. That Station stuff is some very good writing, I'm going to have to go back and see how the story develops.
I was also lucky enough to pick up the Poissonier on my last visit toe Venderbight.
I guess I'm travelling at just the right pace as I tend to get the quality "somehting awaits you" just outside each port. I do slow down in well lit places sometimes though.

Regarding battle: It strikes me a bit odd, that monsters, beasties, and pirates that I have managed to hit dead-on with the spot-light before entering battle, are not Illuminated at all once combat opens. Having managed to center them at the nose of the ship, right in front of the light, I keep feeling that battle start with them already Illuminated a little bit. Maybe no more than 25 (on the scale in battle), not enough for a full attack, but a bonus for managing to catch them so would be nice. In my head, most battles start with "Well, that must be a very sneaky ___ to start the fight completely hidden from sight, in spite of the spotlight!"
...speaking of battle, I don't mind the mouse/pointer being flipped around to 'normal', but now it covers the top-left corner of every single pop-up text bubble. So I cannot actually read the names of my attacks; the mouse hides them.

Had to take a few days away due to house full of guests! The much sadness! As soon as they were gone I was right back onto the Unterzee and sailing!
I have to agree that having my Zailors not panic and leap over the rails or eat each other when off the coast of London would be a nice addition. It really is a bit odd to have them leap to their doom inside the harbour walls let alone whilst they are gathered at the railing watching London's Lights approach.
Let me see what else have I discovered today... I seem to be having issues making echoes. All the echoes I make tend to vanish into fuel and supplies! It seems rather hard to build up a decent progress or echoes to buy things. But this may just be due to beta lack of stuff to do.
Hrrmm it is late and my mind has gone blank but I am still enjoying it a lot and now I am at home and on my real PC it is gorgeous! Oh and the ability to delete save games would be useful!

I am probably one of the older players. This makes me atypical and probably negates most of my comments. Personally, I can't keep up with all of the modern point and shoot games, Sunless Sea is perfect.
Between the speed of the game and the music, I feel generally melancholy when playing. I sail around, make a few ports, kill a few sea monsters and act like a newborn zee bat. So far, I have not been able to survive long in the deep, but with a little bit of luck, I will get the hang of it. Also, it is a pleasure to come upon the location named after me.
Thanks

This. Many times this. I ran into a buoy in Wolfstack harbor about 4 seconds after launching and there was a horrifying grinding/crashing noise and it killed me. I was sad.
