Disappeared Unfinished Hat?

So I was working my way through the polythreme storylines and earned an unfinished hat at the end of the unfinished men story. From the rewards page I clicked into my inventory, excited to put on my head the hat that you should never put on your head. But it wasn't there. And when I clicked the story tab, I was back on the main polythreme page. Am I out of luck? Am I overlooking something?
