may i ask if anyone has substantial data on "robbing a drunk" in spite?
read on the fallen london wikia that robbing a drunken rattus has a rare chance of getting a ratwork watch, which is very very valuable. i'm guessing the chances are far lower than getting a sword-cane from robbing the officer? unfortunately robbing an LB seems to be affected by "The Airs of London are Changeable" too.
also some data on the mass diamond conversion in sidestreets(rare chance to find a magnificient diamond) would be nice too. thanks.
=== maybe offtopic but is the "someone is coming" value(it's lowered when robbing a rat) useful to a POSI? i found that there's hardly any actions that raise that once your stats are around 50+ or so? the rewards from it seem to be minor in lategame anyway. edited by Paya Danceswithporngroove Chin on 2/7/2014
There's a document for recording successes/failures and working out the chance of such things. The magnificent diamond one is pretty rare in my experience. It's not too bad cash either way, though...

Converting Cryptic Clues to diamonds, out of 88 attempts I got 6 rare successes with a magnificent diamond (but I think 3 of the 6 were within my first 12-15 attempts, so I got really lucky early and less so later).
Obviously this is a very small sample so we shouldn't draw too many conclusions. edited by dov on 2/9/2014

i guess-timate the diamonds conversion's rare reward could be 10%, if it's anything like the luck challenges which seem to be in increments of 10?
i would doubt FL would allow a 10% rare drop for the rob a rattus option though. the ratwork watch is a 460 echos high-end item. but maybe they tweaked the its "The Airs of London are Changeable" range , so it would show up less often than the drunk officer?

Rare Successes (or rare defaults* but those aren't often used) can be set to any whole number percentage between 1 and 100. Luck challenges are increments of 10% though yeah. Robbing the rattus faber isn't dependent on Airs of London; it shows up if you have Someone is Coming at 2 or more and then resets the quality (silently, somehow, it doesn't display a quality change message)
*rare default basically means rare failure, but they can also be rare successes for branches that don't challenge a stat

As someone who has gotten thousands of surface currency from the rat, I'm inclined to believe the success chance is less than 10%
