In relation to the Hallowmas period, could we please eliminate the action cost of letters? For a social game, the cost of socialising is quite high, and I don't see a mechanic reason why that should be so.

During Hallowmas, lots of people wanted to betray others, but couldn't notify them in advance that they were planning on doing so, due to a shortfall of actions. Likewise, communicating that some confession requests were superfluous, and others urgent, fell to a forum thread which probably doesn't reach many people. Being able to send a polite note that a confession could be declined, or explaining why a confession was declined, would have helped improve the social cohesiveness of the community.

There are no benefits for receiving a letter, beyond the fact that it doesn't cost the recipient any actions, unlike the other social activities.

Please consider making them zero-action activities.

While I agree that the action cost should be removed, I'd like to mention that sending a letter is a terrible idea during Hallowmas since it is going to be buried underneath all the notices from other players consigning / burying / betraying your confessions.

On that exact note, would it be possible to consider the letter as a social invitation that you have to accept (open the letter) and read, instead of it silently drowning in your message box without you ever noticing.

I don't think they can modify action costs on accepting social actions, though. And it can be equally soul-crushing to have to open a hundred letters not unlike confessions.

Being able to sort / filter social actions would be one way to resolve the issue. Have a filter to show game-generated notifications / actions (living stories, time the healer etc.), another for general social activities, and one for seasonal activities? I agree that letters could be missed, but there must be some simple way for players to communicate that isn't either too expensive or limited to forumites.

I can feel this calls for a complete social/message tab revamp *winwink*

I'd support it taking 0 actions as long as the cost of postage is raised to at least 10 pennies. There has to be some sort of deterrent to overuse of the message system.

Able to log accepted actions will be so nice for sorting though RP letters.

I would love to be able to ticky-box the "contacts" lists on the "edit your account" page to be able to remove more than one contact at a time.

Social Actions: send them to Kade Carrion (she/her; no Tournament of Lilies, please). an_ocelot has gone NORTH and cannot benefit from social actions!

Here's to the hope that they will be able to deal with divorces, deactivated acquaintances and alike before the iOS release hits.

I find the highlighting of "accepted" answers in forum threads makes them virtually unreadable, which is especially unfortunate since such answers are usually the most useful! Might there be another way to designate them, say a gold star or something? Or is there a way I don't know to eliminate the highlight so my poor eyes can read the answer?

Usually if you just highlight the text with your mouse (or whatever) it becomes more readable.

Are the moderators aware of this issue?

http://community.failbettergames.com/topic21024-requirements-and-costs.aspx?Page=4

In short, eliminating the information of how many items of a commodity you still have left after (and before, with mouse hovering) an action has been seen as somewhat inconvenient. Many ppl would like to know, whether you plan to implement the changes "as is", thus removing this information for all locations and actions, or are you planning on cancelling/modifying the change.

Thank you for your response.

Ditto on the Requirements & Costs issue. But I've sent Feedback saying as much, which is probably a louder voice than a forum one.

Yeah, I've stopped playing because of the Requirements and Costs issue. Will probably log on enough to keep notability, and do the seasonal stuff, but wow is it annoying.

That's voting with your wallet. I already bought some Fate for Sackmas, myself, but if you two and others feel strongly about this issue as I do, I'd advise quick emails to feedback@failbettergames.com with your concerns. Their bottom line and [paying] players enjoyment of the game are one and the same, right?

The main problem I see is that it turns a 1-click mechanism into 5 clicks, on many occasions. Checking the Myself tab for quantities, clicking back to Story. Playing the action. Seeing no quantities outcome so possibly clicking back to Myself, then back to Story again. That's an efficiency disaster, and in favour of what? Streamlining to iOS which doesn't support 'mouseover', or possibly saving valuable screen real estate on small devices? Meh.

Find a way to have a 'tap for info' implementation then, to replace lost mouseover functionality on mobile devices while preserving screen space. A new little Magnifying glass icon could do the trick.

I pay for the Chimes each month. Other than that, I have previously purchased a lot of Fate. You do have a point, I should address the Makers in general, I guess. So feedback@failbettergames.com it is!

This requirements & costs thing is a pretty huge issue for me as well (though... not enough for me to reconsider my subscription).

I haven't sent an email yet -- I should.

Yeah, I did the Cave of the Nadir with my alt and my goodness it was a complete PITA not to be able to see how many Supplies I had left. Especially as I was taking it down to the wire. I'll send an email as well, then.
