I forget ... (Ambition: Light Fingers)

Is there any way to check what the requirements for the next step in an ambition? I went to sea to Dr Vaughn, had some tea with her, and got instructions as to what I needed to bring back. I headed immediately back to London ... remembering nothing but the 5 whirring devices. I really don't want to trek there and back again just to find out what else I need - so is there any other way to find out? It's not in my journal, obv. :-(
On an unrelated note - are there any clues how to get mark of credits?
