The idea of marrying a chemistry set has me lying on the floor and laughing like a successful seeker.

Speaking of which, isn't it odd that there are no parasol items in the Bazaar? Sure, there's no sun in the Neath, but they'd still be useful for fashion purposes! And for keeping bat guano from getting in your hair...

Well, no parasols, but there's the Poison-Tipped Umbrella. +4 Shadowy, +2 Dreaded, 450 Echoes at the Bazaar. That could do ^^

Reading it makes you ready to take to the streets and defend love. At all costs.

Start with more Broken Giant than seem strictly necessary. Add a dash of Hesperidean Cider, a dash of Cantigaster Venom, and serve it in a lead cup covered in correspondence. Drink it down to the count of seven. Roulette for the criminally wealthy and insane. Stir in a drop of Moon Milk to love every moment of the everlasting agony that follows.

Unless it worked like items which increase Menaces. If you put them on when you have none of the Menace it gives, it permanently raises a point of that Menace.

But how would you control which menace area it sent you to? With all four being activated at once, wouldn't it just send you to any one of them randomly?

(the cost would probably be somewhere in the region of 150x Strong-backed Labour, 75x Whirring Contraptions and 15x Bazaar Permits. I would definitely grind for this.)

Could you imagine if every delicious friend got their own unique weapon? That would be rather mad, but also a very fascinating high donator reward for sunless skies. My own ideas for items

Oh dear. It seems your Spirifer has had a rather nightmarish dream and is trying to resort to the only thing he knows well: stealing souls. The only problem is that he's trying to extract the souls out of your animal companions.


Talk some sense into him (persuasive challenge)
Come now friend settle down. You can't extract souls from animals, that's ridiculous. Look here, you already have souls.
Success: You calm him down with words of reason. He goes back to his bottled souls and gives you some as a gift before falling back into his tormented dreams. Reward: Persuasive is increasing: ?cp You've gained 45~100 Souls.
Smack some sense into him (dangerous challenge)
You can't let him extract the souls of your animals. You don't know if he can. You don't even know if animals have souls. But no doubt that fork is going to do damage to your prized companions.
Success: A quick blow to the head and he's out cold. He's simply sleeping don't worry. On his descent to the floor some brass fell out of his pockets. Reward: Dangerous is increasing: ?cp You've gained 90~200 Nevercold Brass

Oh dear. Oh no that's no good at all. You don't give a d**n about the cat, it's your spirifer you're worried about.
I think this might be a single output storylet or maybe a matter of luck. I'm thinking you either lose the spirifer and gain some dark knowledge, or your spirifer is changed into a Raving Spirifer: He only whispers, mutters, and screams one thing: The Name. IDK though since I didn't create the starveling cat and I don't know the writers' intentions with it.
