yknow, this kinda thing would make for a really fun competition reward: win an art contest and get to make an item (within limits).

Not necessarily for a specific character, but I had to share this one...

Companion:
Robed Bat
"THAT'S MR BAT, TO YOU. CARRY US." Where did it get a robe that small?
+2 Watchful, -1 Dangerous

(Opportunity card: Mr Bat's Demands.
Small, squeaky, imperious, and convinced it's a Master of the Bazaar. Mr Bat demands an appropriate retinue.

[IGNORE]
Well, now you've done it. It's gone and hired servants while you weren't looking. Don't ask what it's paying them.

gain: 3x Sulky Bat.

[REFUSE]
The resulting tantrum draws a crowd. It's the best street theatre they've seen all day, and some of them toss money. Shame the shrieking was so close to your ear...

gain: 20 Nevercold Brass Slivers
gain: Wounds)

Sign me up for a Robed Bat as well.

As for Florence's character-specific equipment....

Maximum-Strength Eyeglasses
The lenses are strong enough to elevate one's vision to near-perfection, and thick enough to stop a bullet (at least, they're advertised as such). Shame the bulky lenses are so horribly unfashionable.

Could you imagine if every delicious friend got their own unique weapon? That would be rather mad, but also a very fascinating high donator reward for sunless skies. My own ideas for items

Weapon
Brutal Doctor's Hammer
"Does it hurt when I hit here? Because it's supposed to."
Dangerous +4, Persuasive -1

Weapon
Scoped Infernal Sharpshooter's Rifle
"What a marvel! A magnification lens! See the man way down there? You can easily pick him off."
Dangerous +10 Watchful +4

Companion
Deranged Spirifer
Oh dear, this one was close with Devils but has seen a bit too much of Hell and is none the better for it
Dreaded +1 Bizarre+1 Watchful +6 Dangerous +2

Possible Oppurtinity Card drawing because of the Spirifer
Off the hook... or rather fork
Oh dear. It seems your Spirifer has had a rather nightmarish dream and is trying to resort to the only thing he knows well: stealing souls. The only problem is that he's trying to extract the souls out of your animal companions.

Talk some sense into him (persuasive challenge)
Come now friend settle down. You can't extract souls from animals, that's ridiculous. Look here, you already have souls.
Success: You calm him down with words of reason. He goes back to his bottled souls and gives you some as a gift before falling back into his tormented dreams. Reward: Persuasive is increasing: ?cp You've gained 45~100 Souls.
Smack some sense into him (dangerous challenge)
You can't let him extract the souls of your animals. You don't know if he can. You don't even know if animals have souls. But no doubt that fork is going to do damage to your prized companions.
Success: A quick blow to the head and he's out cold. He's simply sleeping don't worry. On his descent to the floor some brass fell out of his pockets. Reward: Dangerous is increasing: ?cp You've gained 90~200 Nevercold Brass
The Starveling Cat! (unlocked, of course, with the starveling cat)
Oh dear. Oh no that's no good at all. You don't give a d**n about the cat, it's your spirifer you're worryed about.
I think this might be a single output storylet or meybe a metter of luck. I'm thinking you either lose the spirifer and gain some dark knowledge, or your spirifer is changed into a Raving Spirifer: He only whispers, mutters, and screams one thing: The Name. IDK though since I didn't create the starveling cat and I don't know the writers' intentions with it.

I love this idea. This is great. This really should be a thing at some point!

For Addis Rook... Mainly super duper endgame-type items

Weapon: Ruby-Studded-Stiletto
A wonder of ratwork & artistry. Crimson droplets line it to the tip. A note tied to the hilt reads: "NOT FOR KNIFE-AND-CANDLE. NOT FOR KNIFE AND CANDLE!" Oh, poo.

Dangerous +15 Shadowy +15 Dreaded +2

Home Comfort: Gold-Mended Mirror
The crowning achievement of your gold-mending craft! Shattered into hundreds of pieces and meticulously put back together with cosmogone-stained gold. Each shard a window into homes and offices all throughout London. The Mirror Marches at your command.

Watchful +20 Is Someone There? +20

You can do some remarkable RP things with the items in Fallen London, but personal weird stuff is always fun!

Weapon
Postluminist Manifesto (Unlocked with: Bringing the revolution, "Snuff the Lights". Requires Advancing the Liberation of Night 40, Plotting Against the Masters 3)
Written in irrigo, highlighted in violant. A disturbingly articulate treatise on the rejection of hierarchy and the dissolution of chains.
Dangerous +5, Persuasive +3, Watchful -1

Astro Obscura Rifle (Unlocked with: Woods in Winter, "Black on white". Requires Renown: Revolutionaries 40, 7 Favors: Revolutionaries)
They say dark stars are only theoretical. This is, therefore, only theoretically capable of collapsing a sun.
Dangerous +20, Bizarre +1, Wounds +5

Destiny
The Ark (Unlocked with: An Obscure Future, "Everyone". Requires On The Dilmun Club's Horizon Expedition 170)
You will leave no one behind.
Persuasive +5, Dangerous +3

(thought about doing one for the Tree of Liberty/Blooming Spider-Council, but why have a single pet spider-council item when you could simulate it by buying 777 sorrow-spiders?)

Can someone check the Latin here is correct? (It should read Remember they will die.)

Weapon
Memento morint
A revolver is not, on the whole, a particularly effective weapon when faced with some of the larger beasts of the Neath. A revolver that uses the correspondence to incinerate your foes, however, is. DO NOT TOUCH THE ASH IT LEAVES BEHIND

On the other hand, it's very clear from some of the uses for the Starveling Cat in SMEN that the kitty is up to its nose in Seeking. Your Opportunity Card idea certainly seems consistent with the writers' intentions for the Starveling Cat to me.

Disturbingly silent, tarantula-slow. This raises many perfectly reasonably questions, but no answers are forthcoming.

The spider in question is not a Sorrow-Spider, rather it is some offshoot of the Theological Husbandry storyline. The Correspondence sigil on its abdomen translates as 'A particular exaggeration in the size of a creature by storytellers', or possibly 'A gargantuan creature, which has only ever been observed in the retellings of stories.'
