There have been a couple of warnings to hurry up and use lacre - is this because the pails themselves will disappear? Or (as I have assumed) because Penstock's will be closing its doors at the end of January?

I am considering saving a couple of pails for next Sacksmas...

It's unlikely that pails themselves will disappear. I think some people had them stored from last year, so you should be fine.

The procrastinating urchins finally decided to drop by. Ah, look at that view from up here!

We are told that the Wicket closes at the end of January and Alexis tweeted earlier today "I am a little saddened to find that the first item on my task list for tomorrow is 'switch off Christmas'". So I guess that it will close tomorrow morning.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.

No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

Well Alexis and the Failbetter team are in London so I presume morning UK time but I don't know what time he starts work.

Aaah. I'd just ground up enough items to pay for Airags when the Presumptuous Opportunity card comes on my alt (which has no wicket housing at all, and therefore suffers badly from City Vices cards), but I doubt it'll come, what, eight times today. [I can usually draw it at least once a day, but never more than three times.]

Any idea what my chances of getting a Night-Whisper from brandy -> brass rings rare success are? Or is there some other way for a low stat non-PoSI player with one point of lacre and one current pail to get to 3 by the end of the day?

I heard from one of my acquaintances that a Private Supper with an unusual pail of so-called snow actually gives Taste of Lacre to both the host and the guest. But that's not mentioned in the wikia, so what do I know? But if it works, then I guess that could be used to give Taste of Lacre to someone.

  • Really? Because I tried to do just that with an alt recently, to no avail.

Lacre suppers don't give PtPT. I tried! Just Connoisseur of Neathy Delights.

I'll have to question my source then. Wouldn't be the first time I have been misled! (It would be the second. And that first time it wasn't that important. It certainly didn't involve buckets that cost 150 Echoes in rare goods.)
