Hello,
im at this part of Light Fingers! where my nightmare is increasing (Songs that slide from her throat like a snake. Like a writhing knot of eels...)
Do i need to get it all the way to 8 before i can move on with the Ambition or do i do somethign wrong?

Assuming you're at the part of Light Fingers! we think you're at, yes. Make sure you have no Memories of Light in your inventory first, or you'll have to do it over.

i dont have access to mirror marches yet i guess, anyway im almost at nightmare 8 now so i'll just finish it this way  thanks a lot for all the answers

My guess is you can also use the mirrors on the carnival to make it easier to return (since you'll have less nightmares)

Yes, I used the mirrors on the carnival at that point, it worked.
