It seems the lock has just been lifted off 5-star lodgings. Who shall be the first to own one of these utmostly notable lodgings?

  • The question that still remains is: what are the mentioned "easier" ways to achieve these lodgings at "certain times of the year?" I wouldn't want to give up my Master's Blood if there was a less pricey method on its way.

I'm pretty sure the Fifth City was sold due to a misclick. As the Empress was reviewing her options -- move Albert to a Sanatorium, grind Investigating, pawn a few palaces to buy peach brandy, have the imperial capital dragged a mile under ground by innumerable bats -- her keyboard was visited by an excitable Pekingese.

The retainer entrusted with seeking customer support from the Sun was found eyeless and gently singed. The Empress is not enjoying her permanent Turncoat status, nor the family planning implications, nor reports of people being mauled by the aforementioned Pekingese...

Sure as hell isn't going to be me. I've been grinding for a theorum and I've just about decided I'll be getting all those Enigmas by the time the Notability cap has hit 50 and we've all resorted to heavy drinking.

I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, so here goes:

The Portly Sommelier now offers Tears of the Bazaar and Master's Blood (on the Presumptuous Little Opportunity card). The Tears go for 7 (!) Fourth City Airag, and the Blood for 5 Tears + 3 Notability. Both require 7 Connoisseur of Neathy Delights and the Blood requires 7 Notability.

What?! But... but... my steady source of income! I'll miss it so!

I'm sorry, but I don't see how that makes sense. Putting the Pieces Together: Taste of Lacre can only be acquired during the month of December, as much as I know. Does it mean that it'll be locked for many players during the rest of the year?

Well, see, you have to have connected revs less than 10 to get the spire. I had about 50 levels of connected when the spire was announced, and had the vexing task of how to lower connected revs without advancing liberation of the night. I wanted to cut all ties with the revs. So I used a combination of traitors feast, favors in the flit... and the dangerous stats increase option on the gunpowder and zeal card. These all reduce connected revs without aiding their plans. I was trying to be rid of them once and for all. But what I didn't notice, was that after my connected dropped below 10, the dangerous stats increase option dropped from the top of the card... and the sell nadir option took its place. Force of habit did the rest, and now I have done the complete opposite of what I was trying to do. This is the worst upset

I really really wish major one time decisions like these, had confirmation screens, especially when its so easy to misclick when options shift around. A simple "are you sure?" would have saved me a whole lot heartache. The cave of nadir selling options aren't even made obvious with a gold border or anything which makes it even more sneaky and troubling.

Well, after going through my Mysteries like popcorn and doing savage injustice to my University connections - and earning only one or two Enigmas despite Watchful approaching 300, more than once - I've discovered an Impossible Theorem. I don't know whether I'll spend it on a Suite or just cling to it forever, but I'm modestly proud.

Okay, serious question related to lodgings and not to frightening children riding vomiting dolphins: are the delightful schemes you described earlier in the year, like the menagerie and the wunderkammer, still on the table, now that we have these new mini-schemes, like the cards party and the parliamentarian's hideaway?

Also, yes. I want a home in a third city temple. The lair in the marshes isn't remote enough for me; not with all these curious blindfolded soirees being held in the sudden neighborhood.

Look! It's a temple! A Third City one!

Something I've noticed though; These new lodgings seem to be missing mouseover descriptions. see Suite vs Reservation.
Will those be added in time for Christmas, or are these new abodes just indescribable?

This thread gets a 10/10 because of vomit temple dolphins.

Also, having a Third City Temple only be a 3-card lodging seems strange; I'd expect it to be 4 cards at least.

Confound it all! I had completely forgotten that calling in favours from Revolutionaries had moved to an opportunity card. I need to dispose of approximately 150 levels of Revolutionaries if I'm to achieve my dream of upgraded premises at the bazaar.

The best approach I've come up with so far is to deliberately raise Turncoat each turn while grinding Affair of the Box, and use the Revolutionaries option to dispose of the menace. Does anyone have a quicker method?

Maybe we should beg Alexis to make Calling Favors in Flit a storylet? I did not have a high Revs Connection. But I imagine for people with 50-150 revs it would hurt to lose it without even getting the Proscribed Material in return.
I mean the restriction on the Lodgings is perfectly reasonable, but it really came out of nowhere (and is the first time having a too high connection locks you out of an action, I think). At least some kind of compensation for those raising it would be nice.

Or you could have it both as a storylet and a card with different rewards. It's silly how hard it is to cash-in the Connection now. At the very least the card could lose its location specific property. I almost forgot it even existed until I started grinding Enigmas.

Another decent way to tank some Revolutionaries contacts is to Find Promising Students while doing Preparatory Research before embarking on an Archaeological Expedition.

Unfortunately it can only be done three times per expedition, so in the long term it isn't as fast as the method you're using. However it is a way to quickly drop 300 CPs, assuming you don't have too many notes already.

I am working on the Suite at the Royal Bethlehem as it is the easiest of the three for me. (I don't have to reduce the "Connected: Revolutionaries I worked so hard to raise, and I'm over 1000 Certifiable Scraps away from buying the Location of a Former Prince of Hell from the Relickers.) I already have my Notability to 7, but the Impossible Theorem eludes me. I have only a 31% chance of success to obtain it at Watchful 263 (200 base stat + 63 worth in equipped items), and I've already died twice attempting to obtain it (using up my Horsehead Amulet in the process, grr). I suppose a Preternaturally Intent Mood would help some, but I've only ever gotten Moods when I didn't need them and wasn't looking for them. So it may be awhile before I obtain a Suite, even though I have or can get the other attributes.
