getting rid of Unaccountably Peckish Messages in this topic - RSS

So, somewhere along the line (I believe I was educating Lyme over at Mahogany Hall), I picked up a point of Unaccountably Peckish. I've done this by accident before, and a storylet would show up all over London allowing me to eat something and thereby get rid of it. However, I don't see it anymore.

  • I understand that Unaccountably Peckish has previously been a main in-road to the quest for a certain Name that I'm nowhere near masochistic enough (or bored enough) to go after. Therefore, I really don't want to keep the quality around. (Maybe someday, if I've run out of things to do and FBG makes it possible to travel to the NORTH. Maybe. smile ) I see the SMEN content just got frozen for a while, but will the hunger storylet be back? (If other people still have it, let me know and I'll file a bug report.)

There's that random card called "A Restorative" where you can lower your Wounds by eating "scraps from the table". It also reduces Unaccountable Peckish in case you have it.

Huh, you're right. The Deal With Your Hunger storylet is gone. I guess my character is stuck with 18 Peckish right now - not that I had wanted to remove it. Still, it was nice for flavor, no pun intended.

Gillsing is correct. Also, succeeding that challenge with Lyme will reduce Unaccountably Peckish. There are a few other ways - if you go to the Mirror-Marches and draw the Heavenly Fruits card, you can eat some cherries. You can also go to the first coil of the Labyrinth of Tigers and buy some Rubbery Lumps, although it's a dangerous challenge that will give you some Wounds if you fail.

"A Restorative" still drops Peckish by one point.

Thanks! I remember the restorative card, but haven't seen it in a while. I finished with Lyme, and my nightmares are (shockingly) kind of low for the Mirror Marshes right now, but I'll check out the Labyrinth when I get back from Flute Street.

I wouldn't worry about it, though. It's not the gateway quality for SMEN; they put very clear warnings on the point where you start SMEN.

There is nothing wrong with having this quality, it doesn't really do anything if you are not Seeking (and you can't do that now anyway).

Social actions welcome, except for SMEN and Affluent Photographer.

True, and it's very easy to avoid starting Seeking the Name even if you are a bit Peckish, but from a roleplaying perspective, you may not want to be preternaturally hungry. On the opposite, you could be like me and do want it for roleplaying purposes. But I suspect the OP does not.
