How does one friends?

So I got my ladyfriend into Echo Bazaar, and we decided we wanted to bother each other, so she linked her Twitter account, and we follow each other and are listed under each others' contacts, but I have no option to do social actions with her.
Most troublesome.

Early social actions are to be found in your lodgings. As you progress through the game you will come across other opportunities via the opportunity cards. Also, holiday events are quite the social occasion!
To get an example of the various types of activities, I recommend visiting the Singing Mandrake (here on the forums, not in Fallen London) as there are several directories for the different activities.

It appears that I have not been clear enough. I know well enough where they are, the problem is that she is not listed in my options, nor I in hers.
