I don't think the lacre has a cap. If it does nobody knows what it is.

Not the Lacre, per se....
I'm now working on a set of volumes on Lacre, and its uses for modern society. (I'm writing books with it....and did 1 successfully)
I would hate to continue to try to write them, only to realize, there is an 11 correspondence cap.
Thanks,
Elonden

I've raised Scholar up to 14 by writing with lacre. I had several pails left over from last Christmas, and have been buying all I can from the Urchins (at considerable cost!). I'm not completely sure yet of the range, but I suspect that this option raises Scholar by a random amount between 1 and your current Scholar level.

Also, there's a new option at Shadowy Dealing in the University that'll let you use Correspondence Plaques, Aeolian Screams and Extraordinary Implications to raise your Scholar level.
It's capped at 20! So anyone with Scholar 10 can further their studies there.

If anyone here has seen a Correspondence skill of 11 or higher, please let us know?
Heh. My Scholar of the Correspondence is 18, but that's from waaay back in the day. It was my "I'm at statcap!" grind choice for a week or so. Didn't used to have a cap in the Forgotten Quarter. Long, long ago, that was.
Where, exactly, is it useful to have such a high SotC? I've never seen anything that required more than 10ish. I'm on the Correspondent track, I guess, but not likely to actually get there for a while.

It'll probably be necessary to get it up to 20 to upgrade your profession from a Correspondent.

So, what is the cap? Would hate to waste valuable lacre.
Elonden There's a new Storylet at the University that lets you use Correspondence Plaques (along with an Extraordinary Implication and Aeolian Scream) to raise your Correspondence, and it says that it will raise the level of Scholar of the Correspondence to 20.

SoTC is useful on a lodging option to raise MW - it's accomplished via a SoTC skill check.

Aha. I read "lodging" as "your lodgings" and ... didn't find anything there, obviously.
