Not entirely sure how you explain the boxes of live rats, then :U

Well it's ok as long as the angry tiger is at a distance. And has just been assailed by a squadron of rats with dynamite and pickaxes.
But then on the other hand those boxes of live rats had a terrifying ending, so.

Spacemarine9 has got to be the reason 10% of the playerbase started playing fallen london. Seriously, i know people who did. You got an entry under the "Funny" page on fallen london on tvtropes . Some friends of mine found it hillarious and started playing.

Also the fact that somewhere out there someone was watching and writing down the events of the great rat flood. Mr.Rats is a hero to us all. I hope one ofthe acess codes now give us rats.

You say that like I don't already have a (very minor) stake in Fallen London lore.
Sunless Sea, coming to all good internet retailers near you some time in 2014! There'll be rats in it, innit.
this has absolutely nothing to do with advent calendars any more, happy yulemas

I meant it in general. If they both have the same info, always, then I will probably be checking the facebook, because it doesn't rip longer posts into several twiits.

Facebook and Twitter are almost always exactly identical in their posts, the facebook ones are generally just not cut into bits.

Aha, a new gift has been sent forth. I hope I am not speaking out of turn, but I would advise this code to be used by those suffering from... legal troubles.

Me neither, I'm afraid. I should probably add that I'm working off the very strong implications as to what it should do. I hope the other codes do not require such particular timing or circumstances to be useful.

For what it's worth, I find Spacemarine9's blog to be an excellent source of news indeed. Very easy to keep track of the new content. His posts are part of the reason I am still playing. And while FL's tweets are fun to read, reading them in a timely fashion is a problem. I get a ton of tweets on my Twitter, half the time I can't manage to read them all. So unless I go specifically to FL's twitter (which I do, but only once in a while to catch up), I often miss those tweets. I will be checking every day for December, obviously. But personally I don't think Twitter is that good for time sensitive announcements. Unless you have the stamina to read hundreds of messages every day.
This reminds me. Is there a mailing list for Fallen London? Where/why not?
Btw, it's hard to remember what started me playing. But I think it was TvTropes, actually) edited by Fhoenix on 12/2/2013

I think if you link your email to your account then you get occasional emails about new updates. But they are very occasional. You might have to change one of the "message me when..." settings on your account page if you're not getting them.

Surely it seems a little heavily recency biased to state this. Indeed 100% of the previous "Advent" codes had no such circumstances.
> I get a ton of tweets on my Twitter, half the time I can't manage to read them all.
I can imagine the intent to be that people spread the word that these feeds exist and have useful information, and leave it up to the users to decide how useful and how to incorporate it.
> Is there a mailing list for Fallen London? Where/why not?
There are costs and risks associated with email communication that do not exist for Facebook/Twitter.
