I notice that "Six weeks yet remain before his shadow may fall on your threshold."

This will be my first Christmas playing Fallen London...may I ask what horrors have come to pass on previous years? Were there hints of what may come this year?

    Gods wake ye merry gentlemen
    Tremble and dismay
The Crimson Beast of Winter comes
To make you all his prey
Keep your fool selves from his sack
    Or you'll be drained away
    For the Masters' lacreous ploy
    Lacreous ploy
    For the Maaaaasters' lacreous plooooy

    In Bethlehem, that fine hotel
    The lunatics all mourn
    To its walls, the Manager
    Has them merry borne
    Victims they of Mr Sacks'
    Contemptuous scorn
    And the Masters' lacreous ploy
    Lacreous ploy
    And the Maaaaasters' lacreous plooooy

On the twelfth day of Christmas the Masters sent to me...

    Twelve wingéd Masters
    Eleven people taken
    Ten appalling secrets
    Nine glass keys
    Eight cryptic clues
    Seven is the Number
    Six whispered secrets
    FIVE CITIES DEEP
    Four boxed cats
    Three sisters
    Two forbidden loves

...and a Sack into which I put me!

In the spirit of resuscitating Sir Frederick's neathy caroling:
    --

Auntee got run over by a hansom,
Walking home from Spite one Sacksmas Eve
You can say there's no such thing as Mercies,
But as for me and [CONSTANT COMPANION] we believe!

She'd been drinkin' too much Greyfields,
And we'd begged her not to leave
But she forgot her sorrow spider,
So she stumbled out the door into the Neath!

When they found her Sacksmas mornin',
    Facedown on the cobbled street
There were wheel prints on her forehead,
Correspondence sigils painted on her feet!

But my tough old crazy lady Auntee,
    Survived that fateful Sacksmas rendez-vouz
She had to feed her bats all to the Boatman,
But now this year she'll live to 82!

    I have also been inspired:

    Hark the hallowed Masters gloat,
    “GLORY TO THE UBERGOAT”
Grains of truth and oceans of rumour,
Pray it remains in good humour.
    Joyful, all ye cities fall,
    Heed the cheerful Neathy call.
    With the gen’ral majority,
    Bow to caprine authority!
    Hark the hallowed Masters gloat,
    “GLORY TO THE UBERGOAT”

    Goat by lowest Neath adored,
    Goat, our everlasting lord!
Fate and grind will make him come,
    Offspring of a goaty womb.
Devouring flesh the goat’s head see,
Please strip us of our liberty.
Displeased as man with clay man to dwell,
    Ubergoat, it came from hell.
    Hark the hallowed Masters gloat,
    “GLORY TO THE UBERGOAT”

Following in the thread, I present you another neathy carol Mister Sacks Is Coming To Town

Hope you like it, found it one day while searching. I did not sung or wrote it, just sharing it in the spirit of Sacksmas

Hahahaha! Good show, Cocytus, good show! And now I'll have:

    Hark the hallowed Masters gloat,
    “GLORY TO THE UBERGOAT”

Stuck in my head for the rest of the night! Big Grin

The text seems to work quite well with deck the halls. Is that what you were going for?

No cats or investigations of photographers please.
Same goes for Sparring,Loitering,Suppers and Games of chess! Sure I'll accept them occasionaly but I wont help you grind them most of the time.
But calling cards are highly welcome! (Got too much influence for cards at the moment. Sorry!)
