Losing Savage quality - why, and does it matter?

So... pursuing the Vake. Loaded up with the nuns' requirements and sailed out (twice, I mis-remembered the first time!). Got told I'd need training - but also that it was the current content limit, and no training options were available. [Yes, rather annoying to make all the effort only to have to turn right around and leave!]
On leaving, I get the note that 'You've lost "Savage!"' - am I right to think that this is some training-Ambition-related quality that I don't need to worry about having lost yet?
