Contacts missing from drop-down list

I've been trading favors back and forth with my real-life daughter, and suddenly she doesn't appear in my drop-down list of contacts. I don't have any outstanding messages to her. What could be wrong? If I refresh the window, I simply lose the turn it took to get there.

She could be at Zee or in a menacing location. Those (and possibly others like the Nadir) cut one off from contact with London.
