They're Sunless Sea teaser content. They may allow you a glimpse of the ultimate endgame. One of them has a toque.

I think it's not inappropriate to mention, with specific hope that FBG might happen to read it: this event's been pretty damn amazing! And frightening and extraordinary, giving glimpses of our characters operating on a scale far beyond what we're accustomed to. So many stories, so much colour, so many mysteries! And, overall, fun!

Seconding Spacemarine. People who get drunk enough to fall in gutters are in urgent need of temperance, a virtue you generously promote by relieving them of the means to buy alcohol. You are essentially stuffing sobriety in their pockets -- with such selfless abandon, in fact, that no room is left for vulgar worldly goods, which are swept away by the overflowing tides of your benevolence. edited by Flyte on 10/24/2013

You get a snail-mail from Alexis with the design of the Correspondence sign. Then you have to make a tattoo with it. That gives you the next candle.
Actually, I think, I remember a conversation a long time ago with Mr.Eaten's twitter involving tattoos.

Oh, that's easy. I set this year on fire. Hardly my fault, you understand. The woman with the tattered stockings wouldn't stop yapping about her silly fossil collection, and there's only so many times you can shove a concubine down the stairs before it becomes improper, you know. And that cat - positively dreadful! Something had to be done, and that charlatan of a manager cared nothing about the state of the place. So I took the camphor and set Time ablaze. Lovely! All silver and green. Danced with the false-stars, it did. And the tea-cakes are the most delightful temperature, once you peel off the wax. Time melts quite dreadfully, you know. Or does it? It's hard to remember these days. Sometimes, I think my thoughts march right out of my head! None of them can be bothered to stick around, though. Pity. I'd love to get their opinion on things. Where was I?

I think we can safely put this one down to one of the more outré plotters among the Calendar Council. Probably a run of false almanacs, which would have baffled space and muzzled time had the Ministry not located and seized them. Like that one year we had three Shrove Tuesdays! I ate so many pancakes. Too much pancakes.

Thanks to you, for the excellent work on the wiki! For me it's become an essential part of enjoying Fallen London ^^
BTW: the attribute for the dream of roses is "A possible future: A pricked finger" (#5). Slightly less ominous than Chill of the Void or Taste of Blackest Brine, hmm?
Anyway. I was reading the text of the Navy Lieutenant storylet, and I noticed that apparently the name of the Carnelian Coast is misspelled. Any ideas on possible omophones or similes? Cornelian? Cornerian? Coniglia? XD edited by streetfelineblue on 10/24/2013

How rare is the visitors card? I got it once and chose to buy a fish, thinking it might be necessary. Now I can't get it to come back. It's been two days... My nightmares and making waves are high enough, though that doesn't seem to be necessary anyway. How often are others getting this card? I'm starting to worry I might not get it again before the event is over...

my question is this: why is the thread title Hallowmas 1892 if the ingame year is 1891?

Even the blog post says 1892, so it's probably not a typo. Maybe a misnumbering. Or maybe we're going to fall asleep for a year and get woken up by a kiss from a snake or something.

To add to the general sense of confusion, I cannot but read the title of this thread to a mangled imagining of the tune of David Bowie's "5:15 The Angels Have Gone."
Ninety-two / Hallowmas / Visitors gone / I've gone to zee / Rubbery Men / deep underground / all of my crew / all tentacles / flesh-covered eyes / ninety-two / steamer has sunk / visitors gone / we have no names anymore / forever I will devour you / wrong steamship / here in the Neath / forever I can't remember.

This is a rather ambiguous prediction of a prediction! Does this mean that, come the 31st, we'll receive our prophecy, and it will be harder after that point to receive a different prophecy (and so better acquaint ourselves with a range of possible futures) - or, does it mean that once we've had our glimpse of the future, we'll have to work extra-hard to prevent it from coming true?

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

I think I would have preferred it if the entire game had been shunted forward a year just to make the thread title correct. Sure it'd completely mess up canon and continuity, but it'd be funny

That is a dangerous gamble. If all you need is a quality, and you can get it with just one card, why not go for it? Better to keep a spare fish for future use (or just as a souvenir: I chose the hook-handed magician path, but I got me an extra fish just because) than to wait for three cards of which only two could appear in time.
Because I am a seeker. Anything that has a seeking option MUST BE PURSUED AT ALL COSTS. I actually now offset coffees I would have bought against fate I have to acquire instead. DAMN YOU FAILBETTER. Yes, you heard me. LESS caffeine and it's YOUR FAULT. *glares* *twitches*

I've enjoyed this festival and all its portents. One thing I wonder about, though: what's their real relation to the endgame? I seem to remember that it will be possible to continue playing after reaching it, but given the... definiteness of many of these outcomes, it would seem that they must represent quite distant futures set in motion, perhaps, but not actually contained within the endgame.

I loved the writing of the Blaze of Distant Light option so much; it was remarkably evocative. I'm a low-level user (highest attribute is Persuasive 76 + bonuses), so I wasn't at all familiar with the context of the decision I was making. It was satisfying nonetheless; I took the option that seemed ethical to me, and now December is my friend, everybody else is cross at me, and I have Gloom. Couldn't be more chuffed, even if I have doomed us all.
