I'm curious. We all have our favourites on the development team.
Personally, I love the Bishop of Southwark. He's the most bombastic and proactive of the characters associated with the Church, who tend to be more mild, and his schemes are so deranged the only real response to them is to stand up and applaud. Plus he's hilarious. Who doesn't like a good wrestle?
What about you? Who are your favourite characters in the game (minor or major) and why?

I've mentioned liking the Duchess and Widow quite a bit because of how sympathetic yet unnerving they are, but I also have to tip my hat to Jack-of-Smiles. He's so delightfully mad. Any and all of the Masters are also pretty awesome, the game does a good job of making them enigmatic yet unique. Little things, like Mr. Wines getting "drunk" off music or the taciturn Mr. Iron and his impressive ambidexterity, are very effective in that regard.

Hello topic back from the dead!
But I'm definitely with Kirr and the Rats, particularly my Disgraced Bandit-Chief. I didn't want him to take that final step, but thought he needed to for his, errr, character development. I was so very happy when I got lucky and he was Redeemed.
My other favorite is probably the poor Topsy King. I wish I hadn't selfishly kept the Court cycle spinning until I was ready to leave it, because I really should have left on that high note. (oh a pun!)

Favorite...hm...Even given what I've learned of her, I still have a soft spot for the Gracious Widow. Her understated manner and insistence on shadowy dealings I find delightful. Beside her, I always enjoy a lively discourse with Mr. Pages. The cromulent expressivitudes he pontificates never fail to enliven. Easily my favorite of the Masters. Speaking in broader terms, I almost always enjoy interactions with Urchins and cats. No particular one there, but an appearance of a representative of either of those is almost always welcome.

My favorite character is His Amused Lordship who despite the state of London remains cheery (Just why is he so cheery). Next would be the dauntless Urchins. My third, my quirky rat companions.

The Quiet Deviless. For the first time since I began my descent, I'm half-tempted to abandon the search for the Name, if it means I can have her. Also, the Bishop of Southwark, the Mercies, and the Masters in general, particularly Mr Pages. (The Definiculate Dictionary *has* to be an in-game item at some point.)
Also the Hundreds and the Bazaar itself, for certain definitions of 'favorite' and 'character'.

Winston P. Aberforth, rattus faber property manager of most gentlemanly and verbose manner, who displayed unexpected courage, cunning, and tragic history during the war against the secret lord of London's rats. But he's one of a kind, he is.
As for characters I didn't make up, the Wry Functionary is always a charmer. And I will second the Bishop of Southwark, for essentially being a professional wrestler in a cassock.

The Manager of the Royal Bethlehem has fascinated me ever since I first met him. There was a time when I had designs to seduce him, or at least make the attempt. However, in the course of my rather perfunctory journalistic career, I have uncovered a certain tidbit about him that makes me despair of ever capturing his interest. Alas. A lady can still dream, though, can she not? Ah yes, a lady can still dream...
The Duchess. When I happened to catch a glimpse of her true identity, I suddenly liked her a LOT more than I used to. Which is not to say I didn't like her already, of course.
The Illuminated Gentleman. I only ever see him at Mr. Wines' revels, but he most definitely makes his presence memorable. I'd love to have him as my Constant Companion (but don't tell my current one I said that).
The Affectionate Devil. I ended up losing my soul to him--not on purpose--and have since gained it back and lost it again more times than I care to count, but he was the very first to claim it for his own. I wonder what he would say if he could see the sorry state the poor thing is in now...

I have a strange fondness for Mr Pages-Sacks. Betraying him was the most complex mix of gleeful amusement and shame-faced regret I've experienced in the game.

I'm actually a big fan of the Cheery Man, although I have no idea why. After him I, like most people seem to, like the Bishop of Southwark, the Sardonic Music Hall Singer and the Wry Functionary. I've grown to love the Inconvenient Aunt, especially after almost losing her twice in my character's run. As for one off characters, I quite like the Utterperson and the Elusive Poet, because apparently I have a thing for mushroom people.

I like the pets/companions in general and I laugh every time I read the text when you get the Bat with Attitude. Among the other characters, let see... So far, I liked the Last Constable, the Silk-Clad Expert was delightfully bizarre, I was intrigued by the Ragged Mendicant and I have warm feelings for the urchin that lives on my rooftop (the one we have to discover his parents for him). Poor thing. I'm also curious about His Amused Lordship and the other members of the Dilmun Club. I still have so much to discover in this city, let's see who else I'll find.

For me it has to be the Bishop of St. Fiacre's. He is absolutely my head canon bro, since Atticus has made a habit of helping his kind, and is closest to the Church.
Besides, his story is so touching, seeking to be something other than what he is. Regardless of whether he can transfigured himself, he has already risen above it spiritually.

I personally really find the devils fascinating. Why? Because they really do like playing at being cruel and petty without really any reason to be. Plus their weird nature of existence and how they come up with ludicrous schemes just to do something is unusual as well.

There are so many memorable characters that I'm not sure who's my absolute favourite, but I can name the Once-dashing smuggler and Soap between those I like the most. I really would like to see more of Soap, especially because the Once-dashing smuggler has already a dedicated story.
Speaking of which, it is a bit sad that we have such interesting characters as companions and we don't have the chance to interact with them more often... it could be really nice that having a specific companion opens (appearing randomly) some story regarding that companion, a miniature version of the personal quests of group members as in many computer RPGs.

No question on this - the Cheery Man. Brutal and ruthless but bound by his oaths: he's very much a mentor figure to my character. Unsurprisingly, I make my toasts for him. And whenever the opportunity card arises, I hint that I might want to stay the night. However, what actually sealed the deal
was getting the rare success the very first time on the opportunity card. I mean when the Cheery Man has opened up about his impotence, repeatedly asking to stay the night and, repeatedly, being turned down, became a game between him and me.
I am quite fond of the Bishop of Southwick, too true. I also share his dislike of snakes -- though he's far too mild in his treatment of them in my opinion, far, far, too mild...

I'm still quite new to Fallen London, but already developing favorites.
After a few chance meetings with the Quiet Deviless, I found myself entirely dedicated to becoming more Intimate with Devils, so that I could secure her companionship.
And then I disappointed her so deeply by attempting to spy on her Abstraction, and shattered our budding friendship. I'm still trying to regain her trust, but I have every hope that being a devil herself she will eventually come to understand my own untrusting nature and forgive me enough that we can be friends again.

Lots of good characters but my favorite would have to be Tristram Bagely, giving him his brief moment of lucidity and speaking to him after completing his unfinished opera was definitely the height of the heart's desire ambition to me.
The rat companions collectively and His Amused Lordship definitely deserve an honorable mention though.

Well, it's difficult for me to pick favorites. I like them all. I even like the minor characters in Exceptional Stories.
If I had to choose, it would be Mr. Pages. He's delightfully adorkable, and censorship campaign aside, he's likely the only Master who isn't a psychopath, if the term even apply to their kind.

After completing (for now) the Theological Husnbandry storyline, including the Fate-Locked portion, I can understand your appreciation of the Bishop, at the point that he convinced my character to do something he wouldn't usually have done. And after all that, meeting up again shoveling snow from our neighbour's lodgings got me smiling ^^
Also, His Amused Lordship. I love the way he uses obfuscating stupidity to cloud his real intentions.

Currently... I'm obviously fascinated by Mr Eaten, but I can't say I really like the character himself since I never met him. But what I know (ou whant I believe I know) about him is very interesting and deep.
Mr Wines is funny, I really like him, I always feel at ease when he's around. Like Mr Heart too, mostly because of its strange appetites. But they are special, they are the Masters. Their role give them a special status.
For the other characters, I really like The Duchess. I find her highly respectable and her story touching. The Manager too. Because of what I learnt about him. Very touching. Very sad. Just like the Duchess. The Topsy King. Funny, incomprehensible, and when you learn about him, touching again... I'm surprised because none of the minor characters really gave me a lasting impression, even though I appreciate almost all of the major characters (I just named my favourites). Ô_o...

Goodness, favourite characters. My vote would have to be for The Cheesemonger. That story built up wonderfully as we progressed and by its end I wept for her time. I love the Quiet Deviless too (actions notwithstanding, her art is quite delicious), and the Topsy King whose role in the Heart's Desire Ambition was quite glorious.
Southwark is rather fantastic (do love the "why did it have to be snakes?!"), but I think I prefer the Tiger Keeper, who's just so blasé about it all that he's wonderful.

I can't say I've seen much content yet, but the characters I'm more interested in knowing better are the Duchess and the Cheesemonger (I'm on her trail already). Special mention to the Sulky Bat: for being, technically, just a piece of equipment, he is remarkably fleshed out in the Opportunity card he unlocks XD

The Bishop of St Fiacre's. Without a doubt my favourite character from the get-go, and his portrait is spot-on. He's often sinister, mysterious, ambitious, yet strangely benevolent at the most surprising of times. Even without the content of Flint, he's an intriguing character.

I'm most attached to the rats in the Secret of the Plaster Face storyline - something about the combination of the Albino Rat, the Working Rat and the Talkative Rat solving the mystery with me under the leadership of the Disgraced Bandit-Chief made me incredibly invested in this little tribe in my house.

2. The Soft-Hearted Widow - probably one of the more magnanimous people here in London. Pyro makes it a priority to give her glim at every opportunity
