Just thought you might like to know that Mr Sacks has now begun his rounds. Whether you answer the door when you hear his knock is very much up to you.

I wonder if anyone is foolish enough to try and steal Mr Sacks' sack...

@ReginaldHubris had the pluck, and very nearly lost his pluck in consequence. Success brings one of at least two sets of rare reward items (Hubris, for instance, received a box of Brilliant Souls.) Failure brings all standard menaces.

Well, I "only" got 1x Appaling Secret and 1x Extraordinary Implication. But, as the Urchin who followed me to return the sack said, "You's one o' the lucky ones. Some people find their worst nightmare in that there sack."
Oh, and let me add that Mr Sacks REALLY loves a bottle of the '68. All shall be well. edited by Rupho Schartenhauer on 3/24/2015

[SPOILER] I wonder if one of the choices in the dark place isn't for Seekers of the Name... the one about the cylindrical thing... [END OF SPOILER]

This is my first encounter with the master in the red suit, so I treated him as I would his surface counterpart. I lacked both cookies and milk, but he seemed fond of the '68 as has been mentioned previously in this thread, so maybe he won't hold my lack of cookies against me.
Though I was wondering how long his rounds take? It is so interesting watching who partakes of his sack, and the urchins aiding him can be very indiscreet (as urchins tend to be, of course, but these urchins actually know things to be indiscreet about).
-- News in the Neath: Noted citizen of Fallen London, Abraham Bounty, has acquired six hundred and sixty six souls. Additionally rumour has it that the lion's share of those souls was from a theft of The Brass Embasy itself. We are quite certain that this portents nothing ominous for him. Well, nothing unusually ominous anyway.

I was quite impressed by some of the things the urchins know... I assume that there is an exceptionally-lucky success for watching who partakes of the sack too, yes? I haven't stumbled upon it yet. Too busy trying and failing to steal it. Well. Faint heart never won fair maiden.

"Fascinating. The floor here feels like velvet, aside from a curious, flesh-like warmth. But it refuses to reflect light at all, not from candles or from my radium goggles. If there are walls or ceiling here, I haven't found them. I must have walked a half-kilometer already and still there's no sign of exit. Just blackness. Endless blackness.

I wonder, is there much to be gotten from this occasion without fate?

But of course. The only thing you need Fate for is sending gifts to other players, which is hardly an integral part of the game narrative...

So Mr. Sacks doesn't like it when I try to give him the starvling cat? I will have to remember that. =P
P.S. There should have been a warning of some kind that you only get to pick one option. If I had known that I would have picked more carefully. -_-

Indeed. It's a good idea to check the wiki before giving him anything, since many options are significantly more beneficial than others.

I'm currently leaning towards giving Mr. Sacks some nice wine, but does anyone know what giving him the antiques will net you in return?

The '68 is definitely the best option, Barry. By far the best.

Thank you both very much for the information! My journal now contains a record of his response for when I gave him the wine. I'll note that the wine response is different than the one on the Wiki, so he seems to be giving out new information each year.
