I'm so used to getting 2 per run, so imagine my surprise when all 7 Lenses of Black Glass became 7 Coruscating Souls.
If anyone is wondering why I have 8 in the image, I always keep an extra around, just in case.

I just got my very own zubmarine! It didn't take as long as I expected to get all the materials -- ten days on the dot to collect those bejewelled lenses, whirring contraptions, and strong backed labor!

After a seemingly endless number of zee voyages, I've finally managed to get 500 pages of cryptopaleontological notes to get back in the university's good graces. (I had a lot of them from previous research voyages, but I had to use 500 to breed a certain beast.) Of course, they're the least readily available, and I ended up repeating the Corpsecage Island carousel a LOT before finally getting enough of the d---ed things. Let's just say I'm not planning to go back to Corpsecage anytime soon.

Recent accomplishments:
Drew A Presumptuous Opportunity three times in one day, acquiring my first Vial of Tears of the Bazaar.
Finally got the Majestic Pleasure Yacht after almost two weeks of grinding. The incidental profits were enough to buy a Devilish Fedora.
Made it far enough in the Fidgeting Writer to gain my first ever Night-Whisper.
Am up to 57 Volumes of Collated Research. This is the least remarkable thing I've done lately but I am absurdly pleased. So many volumes.
Visited Hunter's Keep on my first ever zee-voyage, and am now seeking the Stone-Tentacle Key.
And I finally, finally, finally became Stormy-Eyed!!!

Well, in real life -
I just came back from the zoo, after delivering a bat my wife and I found. He (she?) had a hole in his right wing and wounds on his neck.
We chased the cats away, which was gathering around the bat (cats who really did not want to leave the scene and pass on an opportunity to catch a wounded bat). Had the good fortune to rescue a bat, hold him in a towel on the way to the zoo. Those guys are ADORABLE.
That started my weekend in a good mood.
I have minutely advanced the falling of my city.

It is a lot more manageable if you stick to one point per week - then you spend most of your time grinding up your Orphanage / Salon and send invites to the advanced professions (Crooked-Cross, Midnighters and Correspondent) right after TTH hits, and then go for item conversion if you are lacking one or two level of MW.
Still managed to avoid the sinister options for the orphanage, too.

It's a small thing, but I've only been playing a little while. Today I gratified a whim and bought and freed a Clay Man. My character is a bit of a Leveller by nature... didn't expect the useful reward!
To close out the evening, I cashed in some chips and moved to a nice little townhouse. Considering it lacks two days of two weeks since I woke up in a gaol cell, I'm impressed with myself, anyway.
