I see a new option at the Carnival. It requires the object in the Subject. I have never heard of such a thing ...

Sorry to revive an old topic, but I'd only have created a new one otherwise.
I don't have a smuggler's lamp. I've visited the relevant page a number of times, and assumed I need to click the link to get me a lamp. But each time I click it, I'm returned to the "A Hissed Conversation" storylet, but no lamp has arrived. Any advice would be welcomed.

Wait, do you have the Hissed Conversation storylet? It should require Smuggler's Lamp at level 1, are you sure you don't have it? It should be listed as a Story quality.

The storylet appears, yes, but I can not proceed with it. The button says "LOCKED"and the quality says "Requires Smuggler Lamp 1".
I don't think it matters, but I am a backer of SS, albeit not linked to my FL account.

Scuff, did you follow the link 2nd comment down? That's where you can find the FL link to unlock the Smugglers Lamp.

I go to the following page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/failbetter/sunless-sea/posts/588036
And click the link - http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/a/cleftforme (I'm assuming this is the access code, I can't see anything more likely looking)
When I click it (and I'm logged into FL), I get taken to the Hissed storylet. The storylet is still locked.
If I'm not logged in, I get taken to the login page, where I login and go to the messages page. Then go to the carnival, where the storylet is still locked.

The Hissed Conversation storylet has gone completely now; being fixed rather than removed I hope!

Just to update anyone interested, the KS has been updated with the following comment:
"We'd forgotten this was still set up! We don't want to keep sending people via a completed KS, so we've taken down the code. But follow the advent calendar at http://twitter.com/echobazaar and you'll find a way back in some time before Christmas - there'll be other opportunities in the future, too."
