Honestly I was kind of expecting some Byzantine hell-puzzle rather than something so simple. Where's my amazing epic quest requiring a shopping list of items going from one end of the Neath to the other??? you disappoint me, alexis

Social Actions: send them to Kade Carrion (she/her; no Tournament of Lilies, please). an_ocelot has gone NORTH and cannot benefit from social actions!

I'm hopeful that he did that with the salon and orphanage and was feeling bad about it, thus gave us a break with the Ubergoat. Don't make him do more and make it harder on the rest of us.

Alexis is one tricksy, sneaky son of a tiger, though.

You know, I think at least this time he played straight and fair - the hints were actually elnlightening more than confusing. Well, the first ones, at least XD

I feel strange now. I mean, I'll probably grind for another Overgoat, but with no hurry - I like a +30 Watchful pet, but most of the thrill was actually cracking the enigma. To actually GET the prize is slightly less relevant to me than good teamwork *_*

Oh, he played it brilliantly. I wrote reverentially when I called him tricksy and sneaky. Mind, I doubt I'll ever forgive him for how stressful this year's Feast was, but he's one of only two writers who can consistently stay a narrative jump ahead of me. (The other is Jasper Fforde, btw, and if you haven't read his novels, FIX THAT OH MY GOD.)

Jasper Fforde I actually lack knowledge of, but I had a similar feeling with the first books of A Song of Ice and Fire ^^

I actually had the pleasure of meeting George when I was fifteen or sixteen. Mostly I remember being so impressed with the really cool tattoo his lady friend had on her neck, but I enjoyed listening to him shoot the breeze (I nearly used mild alliterative profanity there, is that allowed over here in modest and non-aggressive amounts?) with some other writers. Twenty years later (yes, I'm old), he still looks exactly the same as I remember.

Wresting this back on topic: I'm laughing at myself because I drew that damned Overgoat card over and over again yesterday. I've gone entire months without seeing it as often as I did in the span of maybe two dozen cards. As in, to the point I started getting annoyed at how much I was drawing it. Some days, I'm almost like smart people but yesterday was not one of them.

For the sake of clarity, yes the process consumes all materials. So if you are an obsessive completionist, yes that means you'll need to grind quite a bit to "catch them all" as it were.
Does anyone know yet if the Ubergoat generates the Overgoat opportunity card?

Congratulations on finding the most acessible means of obtaining a UG! It is possible that it is the only way.

Not only if it generates it, but if it does, whether the rewards are the same (personally I think that after a double grind, the Ubergoat should at least provide the same benefits, but I could stand corrected).

I've already spent four days trying to find a solution that isn't a horrific monetary nightmare and i'd be a damn fool (a cretin, you might say) if I were to start it again <0> I mean I had the solution right there i just didn't really want it to be the right one

incidentally do you know if the Bank of the Bazaar is offering loans? i could do with a big cash lump sum to buy goat now and repay my goat debt over the course of the rest of my life.

(also for what it's worth the actual text on the hidden branch is goddamn hilarious i think i should point out. i give it an A+ out of ten thumbs up)

Isn't it just your Watchful Stat that generates the card? Now the options require a quality that both the normal and Ubergoat provide, so you'll be able to play it too.

Please do not send SMEN, cat boxes, or Affluent Reporter requests. All other social actions are welcome.

I will certainly report back if I flip a relevant card.

Yeah, the Overgoat card unlocks with Watchful 105, but if you don't have a Goat then the only option on it is to listen for rumours about the Overgoat or something.
There should probably maybe be a similar thing for the Ubergoat unlocked with Caprine Authority 1, maybe! That way anyone who isn't a major follower of the FL community might be able to find out about the mysterious umlauted goat.

Ah, you are correct. I had forgotten that. We shall see if Caprine Authority 2 unlocks further options then.

  • How about this for irony then: I had decided some months ago to buy a second overgoat - to make having 2 overgoats sort of my random claim to fame, and to make jokes about having a breeding pair (who wouldn't want an infant overgoat?). Grinding had proceeded well, and I was near the point I could purchase another one when the ubergoat surfaced - at which point I actually *put off* buying a second in case I needed the money for material to upgrade to an ubergoat. Goaty Irony, that.

Nay, it's awesome. More precisely, beautiful and terrible in its simplicity. Well done, Master Tiger. Brevity is witty.
