My alt, inconveniently named Catherine Raymond, is now an Author and available to speak at Salons. I do not expect to move her into the advanced Professions for some time, if ever, so feel free to invite her! (Her profile appears in my signature line.)

It's in my signature, but I should note that, as my studies of the Correspondence have outpaced my more popular Authorial work, I am no longer a wanted salon guest. *sniff sniff* It is folly to desire to invite me as a prominent speaker.
There are greater things afoot now. I must know the answers. My mind burns.

I am now a Correspondent, and no longer able to accept invitations as an Author. (Or so I believe.)

It would be a pleasure to speak at any salon that should wish to invite me. You may already have read my little pamphlet on the care and feeding of fungus columns? Or perhaps you have heard of my work on the fascinating social behaviors of the frost moth? ...no? Oh. Nevermind, I would be delighted to speak at length at your salon on the fascinating creatures of the Neath!
My current work is an in-depth investigation into the mating habits of sorrow-spiders. Very exciting! Although so far I haven't managed to stop them devouring each other long enough to become acquainted... Still, early days yet. My research into mood-lighting and calming music is looking very promising!
I am also available for tea parties, children's birthdays, and plant-sitting. edited by Inky Petrel on 12/11/2013

I would be delighted to speak at any salon that would have me, though I fear I may soon be in the same position as Playersideblog, above. I'm still an Author, for now, but I'm at Notability 4 so as soon as I get to 5, I'll be taking the Correspondent job.

Friends! I am an author in no danger of changing profession any time soon. My recent collection of essays "A Feline Witness: The History of Secrets in the Neath" has garnered rave reviews and continues to climb the best-seller lists. I have a few open spots in my upcoming lecture tour - the owners of the more fashionable salons may wish to invite me... edited by A B Nile on 12/12/2013

I'd be delighted, for now and for quite a while, to be hired for speaking engagements, readings, weddings, funerals, hangings, honey dreams, interventions and birthday parties!
I am guaranteed to be an author for as long as this text remains written here, and certainly for quite a while still.
My repertoire of short stories involve the widely acclaimed archaeological detective stories "Woe to the Bloody City", "The Curse of Agade", "Murder in Mosul" and other escapades of blood and horror set against the backdrop of Assyrian terraces.

My husband's character, esrtweet, is an Author and eager to speak at Salons. Amusingly, he is also an author in real life; he's the author of "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" and "The Art of UNIX Programming."

As I am now a correspondent, I am no longer available to speak at salons. Sad. Hopefully the new lodgings will have options for tier 4 professions!

Currently an Author, eager to speak at Salons. Not likely to hit Correspondent any time soon, as I'm only beginning to grind Notability.

Neither my husband's character (esrtweet) nor my main character (cathyr19335) are Authors any longer; we are both Correspondents. However, my alt, Catherine Raymond, is still an Author and is up for speaking engagements.

I, too, must declare my ascension from authorship to Correspondentularity (why, yes, that is a word; I would know, I'm a Correspondent)

I (character name Suitov) am currently an author, though trying to grind my way to Correspondent. In the meantime, I'm happy to attend salons and invite fellow wordwrights to my own.
Edit: FINALLY grafted (grifted? no, no, good sirs/madams/folk, I assure you, the work in question is indeed my own, every pen-stroke) my way to my brand new pot of violant ink. I managed to make and to host a salon appearance in the meantime. Happy hunting, all. edited by Suitov on 12/31/2013

I have unfortunately risen from my prior and meager status as an author to a worthy correspondent. While I am unable to attend salons, the knowledge I have gained is of far greater value to me now that I know of it.

Yet another Author has now become a Correspondent. Thanks, ocelot!
"Lessons of the Neath" is written in the hopes of both helping other newcomers, and reminding long-time Londoners of how much their assumptions have changed from what they were on the Surface. "Hunting Jack" is the tale of how an assignment from the Constables lead me to Polythreme - and nearly into horrible madness. (Polythreme is madness, but it's more a *compassionate* madness than a horrible madness. Oh, and did you know that ancient Sparta was madness?) edited by Riley37 on 1/1/2014
