If you're facing difficulty playing the game because the newest Firefox version 23.0.1 prevents the screen from loading properly, look at your web address bar. Do you see a gray shield icon to the left of the FL site "https://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/"?

If no, um, it seems I can't help you... Awkward.

If yes, click the gray shield and on its popup box, choose to "Disable Protection on This Page":
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-content-isnt-secure-affect-my-safety?as=u&utm_source=inproduct

Firefox now comes with a safety feature that automatically blocks http elements on a page which contains a mix of http and https. (The extra "s" stands for "secure", and it means encryption is being used.) I only discovered this feature when my Fallen London game screen didn't load! I could see the sidebars (random story snippets on the right and player stats with action candle on the left) and the header (area banner) just fine, but the middle screen with the cards and storylets only showed a sad brown box. Most appalling! Nearly ruined my breakfast. Fortunately, everything was easily fixed after poking about a bit. I hope this helps any other FF players!

Please do not send me monstrous invitations tinged with the inks of the undernight or Boxed Cats. (I rotate my Starveling list, so it might take me a while to reach your name. I haven't forgotten anyone!)

This might only be a worry if you happen to play over the https line. Sometimes I'm directed to the https line rather than the standard http.

I guess it might also have to do with preferences or such? I'm playing in Chrome, so I can't tell...

Possibly returned after a long hiatus. Please do not send live rats or tournament requests.
