I haven't played for a while and just saw that some of the new options unlock with a certain amount of "pennies"? Of course, these pennies correspond to the value of items in my inventory. But if I click on an action costing 1000 pennies, how do I know which of the items in my inventory I will lose?
Right now I'm too afraid to click on anything...

When it says "pennies," what it means is pennies. As in, pence. If you click on an action costing 1000 pennies, it will remove 1000 pennies; or, 10 echoes.

You lose it from your stash of Echoes. you don't actually lose any items. So if you've, say €56.48 and the action cost 1000 Pennies, you would then have €46.48. If, on the other hand, you don't have 1000, or €10.00, then the option will be locked.

Oh, of course!! Sorry, I feel really stupid now. I just didn't connect "Pennies" and "Echoes"...Though it really should say "This costs 10 Echoes" instead of "1000 pennies". edited by Rupho Schartenhauer on 3/24/2015

You're good! For years, echoes and inventory were entirely separate, and met only at the Bazaar. Now, they're all mixed together like gin and strychnine!
