I am well aware that discussion of fate-locked content is forbidden here. With that in mind i would love to have someone tell me some details about that branch via a PM so as not to post it here
1. I got to the very, very end of the tale. Do i have any hope of regaining the trust that was lost?
2. Is there any chance i might start this whole thing anew only without the whole last part?
3. Would it have been worthwhile to get rid of it just before the last step?
I hope it was extremely un-spoilerish~

1: It can't be regained, but it can be replaced. People like him are ten a penny where you found him.
2: No - It's once only, unfortunately. A shame, because it's one of my favourites.
3: From one perspective, yes. From another, no. Think of it as being different rewards - you could sell it and thus be richer, or keep it and thus gamble on gaining knowledge. Depending on your perspective, either choice can be wrong or right.

that's hardly the kind of knowledge i wanted.... not to mention it is a VERY small reward(in terms of an ammount of knowledge at least) for so much work and fate. i would have expected to get at least 40 or 50 cp...

Perhaps. As for myself, I was quite satisfied with the results. It's a matter of personal preference.
