Confronting results with people getting lesser and greater successes, we'd say no; only, the greater success yields a bonus item reward - at least that's our impression.

My first piece took three days to arrive, and I got the greater success with the coalman.

Strangely, I found the second map piece only took 24 hours to arrive. That masked clay-man is shockingly prompt. Now I've expended my built-up Casing by blowing up a room full of bankers, and plan to be at sea before the investigation begins. Polythreme, Ho!

My second map piece took significantly less time to arrive. I guess your second piece takes less then the stated two days to get to you. I think that's the case.

Did anyone sell the map pieces? It looks like you can still do the search after you complete the Screaming Map, so it might be worth doing if you have Respectable/Dreaded/Bizarre high enough that you won't fail the initial check. The right half PosI sale storylet says Puzzling Maps, plural- if my math is right, two Puzzling Maps for 25 Echoes would be a decent cash grind, and anything more than that would be a very good cash grind. It says under my Messages tab: "IN FALLEN LONDON: The Disgruntled Naval Officer waits in your lodgings with a gift."
Yet there isn't a storylet in my lodgings that has anything to do with this, other than the "Dealing With Your Screaming Map" one, which isn't the right thing I'm looking for, anyway. Am I supposed to do anything? I'd assumed it was just a kick back and wait sort of thing. Or is it an opportunity card that I have to draw from my opportunity deck?

There's a bug relating to these time-delayed stories, which they are working on fixing. Be patient, and all will be well!

All time-delay mechanisms in the game are currently on hold, as something gone wrong with them. We don't know what, but we'll probably hear something at some point.

Ah, of course. No, I'm fine with waiting. I just wanted to see if, perhaps, I might have been doing something wrong.

I got two left-halves of the map. Do I need to search elsewhere in Fallen London to find the right half, or is it just luck of the draw which side you get?

It depends on who you go to. The Masked Clay Man and the Enterprising Astronomer have the right... halves... edited by Endy on 9/23/2012

I liked a previous theory that was on here, which was that the duplicate right half was a piece that regrew after the original owner tore the map in half.

Eight months later, is this still bugged? Got the "IN FALLEN LONDON: The Enterprising Astronomer waits in your lodgings with a gift." message 22 hours ago, and no indication in my lodging of anything of the sort.

You need to send a bug report about that. I've been having the same issue with timed messages. I hope they'll look at the problem.

Greetings all. Could anyone take the time to inform me as to whether I will be able to find more map halves after I have assembled a map?
Many thanks in advance.
