While the log does definitively state that Mr. Pages is in charge of name-changing and thus dashes my headcanon on that subject to pieces, I am all aquiver with delight at the prospect that my dear Mr. Names is actually a master and not merely a phantom meta-account.

I voted for Mr Sacks, but I think Mr Iron is an interesting character as well. The never speaking, always writing (with both hands no less) is quite terrifying.

I found the most fascinating part of that conversation to be where Mr. Wines let slip that the Masters didn't always have names. Personally speaking and all. edited by T.W.O. Chandler on 2/23/2012

He did cause quite a stir with that, didn't he. Especially when you consider that Mr. Hearts openly speaks of wanting to devour the citizens of London without anyone batting an eye. This is why Mr. Wines remains my favourite.
I don't like Mr. Pages, myself. He speaks like someone trying desperately to appear smarter than they actually are. And while I appreciate the need for censorship in a locale where reading the wrong text can rend your brain into non-metaphorical steaming goop, it still rubs me the wrong way, especially as he severely oversteps his bounds. (Unless the burnings are not actually to destroy the texts, but sacrifice them. Hmm...)
Then should I enjoy him as a villain, then? Not overly, as he feels more morally ambgiuous than sincerely sinister, and although you get to oppose the Ministry semi-frequently, you seldom get opportunities to actually act against it personally. Call me lacking in subtlety, but I'd much rather act against the Thatcheresque villainy of Mr. Fires or the eldritch horror of Mr. Eaten than a doddering censor any day. edited by Patrick Reding on 2/23/2012

I have my favorite in Mr. Sacks. Unlike all the other Masters, he speaks in a deep voice, and is almost jolly— yet mysterious. May he enjoy the cutting of St. John's Lily I have him last Neathmas.

No love for Mr Cups, apparently. Btw I'm glad Eaten was excluded from this one

Wow, thanks for resurrecting this! I've taken the liberty to slightly edit my OP from all those years ago, pruning it of outdated information.

I can never decide if Mr Iron or Hearts/Apples is my favorite, lucky me I already voted on this before so I don't have to think about who to vote for again.

Although I like Mr Wines mostly because of commerce, I have a soft spot for automatons.

My favorite would be Mr. Wines. I find that he does both awesome and hilarious things, and he seems actually interested in salvation, of a sorts. Though....
At his revel, why doesn't he just use his own wine? Truly, I'm split between Mr. Wines and Mr. Pages. But I think that an anarchist's favorite master would be Mr. Eaten, because he'd kill all of them. edited by Ixc on 9/3/2017

I adore Mr Pages because he's the Master I've interacted with the most and he's been really kind to Jen as she attempts to climb his list of Reliables. Mr Wines seems more inclined to take her wine and not give her anything in return.

I have to vote for the literatious fabricatudes of Pages. Sometimes all one needs in life is a little bardious creativitization. He also, of course, has a soft spot for the more seditiofied, steamifous, or other unacknlowledgous works. (The turning in of them, that is.)
...I dunno, how am I doing? This making any sort of sense?

mr irons for the previously mentioned reason of managing to be incredibly intimidating while saying and doing very little in your encounters with him. also he's kind enough to put his foot and order you to stop sometimes if you start casually wandering into seeking. edited by crazyroosterman on 9/3/2017

It has to be Wines, for me - he's the friendliest, although he has his dark side like all of them. Also, Patrick Reding made an interesting point about Pages - the sort of character I play would loathe him on account of "censoring the purity of art" or somesuch. edited by Daedalus_Falk on 9/5/2017

I'd vote for the one who is the subject of the storylet where the player's skill with music starts to intoxicate him. I haven't triggered it in a while so I don't recall the details, but I think it's Wines.
