F.F. Gebrandt has announced her candidacy for Lord Mayor!

So many Londoners have petitioned for her help, she could only possibly answer all their needs from the Mayoral office.

This business-minded chemist and highly respected academic has plans for a wider range of chemical inventions, and founding a museum for the edification of the city's palaeontologists...

I think last year was making the best of a bunch of bad options. This year we may be spoiled for serious candidates who just have different priorities.

Seriously - I haven't had so much trouble choosing a candidate since the first election.

You can take a Kataleptic Toxicology check that gives me a 60% success at KT 3 and offers an Extraordinary Implication on success. You can also spend an action to build a skeleton with a unique description if you have 10 Unidentified Thighbones, a Sabre-toothed Skull, a Jet Black Stinger and a Thorned Ribcage. I'm going to pick up an Anning's kit to see if the Skeleton has any special options.

As for her platform...
It sounds like a curious mix between science and necromancy, to be honest. I'm not convinced that I want reanimated skeletons walking around London, but I'm going to keep an open mind.
...I won't lie, Gebrandt declaring she's in favor of paleonecromancy is what tempted me most about her platform. I must ultimately retain my support for the Viscountess (whenever I FINALLY draw that card that lets me side with a candidate already) however for one simple reason: Judging by one of the options for dealing with the Commissioner's nightmares, Parabola offers much more ambitious opportunities for building animate skeletons than the Neath and therefore taming it is a priority.

While my character might question why one would choose to engage in paleonecromancy, he is also willing to accept "FOR SCIENCE!" as a more than satisfactory answer.

I admit, I'm quite fond of all three candidates this year. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of what each of them is up to in the future, as has been hinted.

That said, the choice is easy. Your Aunt? Dinosaurs in service of Railway, Science and Industry (and a little reasonable Revolution thrown into the mix)?

Real, live pack Dinosaurs? What else can you vote for?

An interesting idea occured to me - since F.F.Gebrandt is explicitly tied to Lab & Palaeontology content, and we have recently got three new broad content areas, perhaps the other two candidates will somehow represent the Parabola and the Railway?

I mean, obviously all of these are tightly interconnected, but also represent three potentially quite divergent paths for future London to take, and viewpoints of what types of endeavours carry most promise.

The theme of Science × Industry × Dreams is actually quite appealing to me. I just would be hard pressed to choose one. What about the rest of you?

The esteemed Mrs. Gebrandt may claim to be a scientist, but what's her main source of income? Peddling laudanum to hapless Londoners! Getting them addicted to her vile concoctions! Say no to this vile fiend!

After some seriously heated debate with Eleonor Donegal, I've decided to throw my lot in with F.F. I initially was for the Vicomtesse, but Ellie said that, if war comes, we should first arm ouselves with knowledge, as it is the most powerful weapon of all.

The fact that she is a scientist pretty much decided the deal for me, not quite sure she will actually do what she claims to do, but would be interesting to see her try.

I am seriously planning to base my judgment on the campaign rewards they provide, and what other information we learn about them during the campaign. As it stands now, I'd be happy to have any of the three become Lord Mayor.

A reasonable candidate, for once. Though knowing from my own activities what scientists in the Neath get up to...I wonder what we *don't* know about her.

Very true. This is already making me much more keen to campaign.

As a science minded fellow - she's almost a shoe-in for my vote.

But as a finisher of the Marvellous, and a dream wanderer, a candidate with ties to Parabola could at least pique my interest.
