To my surprise, I just discovered that there was a real-world St. Fiacre. Actually, there's three, but the most famous of the three is the patron saint of gardeners.

Also a bit of a weirdo who cursed a woman for... visiting him basically. He does not appear to have liked women at all.
I looked him up when I was wondering about the reference to him being bitten by an adder when you're making up the history. Didn't find anything about snakes, but gardener is a job where you might get snakebit.

Yes, St. Fiacre was a misogynist, sad to say. But that bit of hostility in his nature makes him a natural for Fallen London, in my opinion.
