Lowering Respectable?

I have one point of Respectable due to not having a tattoo from Millicent. Using negative modifiers for Respectable like the Possessed Goldfish do not remove this, so I can't get a certain card at the Bone Market.
Is there anyway to remedy this situation?

Negative modifiers should counteract even permanent Respectable. Do you have bonus points from an unequippable item such as a Club or Spouse? You may need a higher negative modifier, such as the Weasel of Social Discomfiture.

There was a mistake on Failbetter's part that caused the card condition scripting to overlook net negatives. It should be fixed by now.
