Is it possible to give my key to a respectable townhouse to another player? My wife also has a character, and we are married both in game and irl, so it seems odd to me that a married couple would live separately. Well there be a feature like this in the future?

This is a desirable wish! Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to let two players live in the same room. In a previous announcement, "Failbetter Games" mentioned that they had plans to improve the housing system, such as selling house keys. You can make this wish to the administrator in a weekly Q & A post, and maybe your wish will be fulfilled when the new residential system comes online.
