The Fruits of the Zee Festival is here, and we're all collecting strange catches! Y'know, people say I'm a pretty strange catch myself, if you know what I mean.

...anyway, here's this week's quick questions thread.

How long are the Destiny storylets? I would switch mine, just for an opportunity to re-play the Destiny story, since I think the game was bugged when I first did so years ago, and I remember nothing at all. Is it a multiple steps storylet, or only one huge text?

It's mainly one huge text. There are two small storylets before that, where you make your decisions. That's it.

BUT: during FotZ there's another step before that, where you actually get to partake in a Drownie Feast. It's also just one storylet, but still. You don't see that anywhere else.

Abandoned crypt is not rat-infested. If you live there you will not get City Vices cards, but you will get the Arbor card.

Newbie type Question, from a nigh-POSI, sigh - heh :

- i must admit, the specifics of just what cards my "Deck" comprises has eluded me, yet - might you ellucidate such, a tad?

-- For example, i've been presuming that every open story plot mentioned on the "Myself" tab would add it's next potentia plot-point / card, to whatever cumulation for the RNG to pluck my next six to flip ... (which i assume ARE selected before being tapped to fill the slots open - Of which, i do tend to have only 1 or two free, of my 3-card slots) ... ((Really MUST find someone to trade random gifts, as inspired by the Square of Lofty Words, tsk. Had this package gathering dust for most of my half year here, now.)) . . . So, what all is in my "Deck", then? - Stories pending, and also ?: any site-specific cards; making-your-name next event cards; pending living-story stuff; faction and-or faction-pet cards ... OR, am i confusing "my deck" with the set of possible cards it MAY "contain", or suchlike ...?

((afterthought:: - OR, is the stack of six cards at hand NOT pre-RNG'ed ? - I'm sure i DO occaisionally see the same card twice, while having some of the one-to-six waiting, yet -- Or, am i simply getting the previous card shuffled-back-in, as the newest card of the 1-6 ...?))

Everytime you draw a card, it is randomly chosen from all the cards your character can possibly draw in your current location at the current time. If you want a more technical explanation, someone else will need to jump in :')

Since we're here, does anyone remember the name of the thread where someone actually proved the deck-RNG wasn't working as intended?

A few things about your deck:
A) Your deck includes all the available cards for a character of your stats, plus the cards relevant to your current storylines (Making your name, living stories, etc). As you progress, some cards are left behind, and other, more profitable ones, are added to your deck.

B) There is no need to hold on to the Gift card for half a year - it's not a rare card. If you discard it, you will soon draw it again.

C) some cards are available to everyone, some depend on your progress along a story. There are some location-specific cards, too: almost every location save the Forgotten Quarter and the Labyrinth has one or two of those.

D) Faction and pet cards are available everywhere.

E) The six (or ten) cards in your deck are not pre-selected. Every time you click on the deck, the cards are randomly selected. You may see the same card appear three times in a row.

Thank you kindly, phryne & Jolanda - hoped i wasn't too far off intuiting the mechanics - guess i'll have to get used to having 3 card slots open, again at last, heh ... (silly, OCD me - that "gift card" HAD turned up maybe 3 times - but, of course, not while i had it face-up, in hand - Not sure i ever DID check it's rarity!)
Thanks, again, Neath neighbors!

I assume you're taking about this one:

My impression is that they may have fixed that. I was getting a particular devil card (a devil has taken a shine to you) multiple times a day, and I haven't seen it for ages now. Just an impression, mind.

Thanks, that's the one I meant! smile

I'm not sure whether they fixed it yet? I still draw some cards far more often than I should, and I still draw the same card twice in a row very frequently, too (both after playing or discarding it first). But maybe that's just my weird luck Big Grin
